I' m not arguing the cowboys ranking. I' just arguing that its not a accurate reflection of how good or bad the cowboys defense is. The cowboys gave up over a hundred yards rushing several times . look up the stats in he cowboys games against the broncos , rams , packers, 49ers , falcons, eagles, giants and raiders if you don' t believe me .sydla also referenced some stats from football outsiders

And we are just supposed to ignore the 8 games they gave up less than 81 yards.......they went 6-2 in those games

Stats like Total Rushing Yards Allowed are pretty straight forward

Well the cowboys played the Commanders and giants twice so I guess that would pad the cowboys stats . over the last month of the season the cowboys played the Commanders giants seahawks and raiders who ranked 25th, 26th 23rd and 28th in rushing offense. The cowboys actually gave up over a hundred yards rushing to the giants and raiders with Sean Lee playing. I believe The Commanders also lost every starter on their o line to injury , including several during their second meeting with the cowboys.are you trying to claim the cowboys run defense is fine ? Are you willing to go on record and say the cowboys don' need to addess the one tech position? You seem to want to have it both ways
You ignore the several examples I gave you were the cowboys gave up over a hundred yards rushing , such as giving up over 200 yards rushing to the eagles in their first meeting, but want to hide behind their overall ranking. Continue to throw around stats without context

That's a contract as it should be. Doesn't hinder anything.
But it shouldn't preclude Vea or Payne in the draft .

No I'm not . In previous posts I acknowledged their ranking but gave several reason why I don' think it is a accurate measure of the defense. Jesus Christ , can't anyone be honest on this forum. if it isn't a big name player then you are going to get all types of people whining....the big thing here is that this team has shown a committment to building through the draft and retaining its own talented players first...not overspending on guys that are on the market for a specific reason....

Id love us to find a few mid level FA's where we get the right value but why break the bank for a guy that got cast off from another team because he wasnt worth the juice? We have our big guys in place, need to hit on the draft again, shore up a couple of needs and then get this team to gel and move to the next level....

It is an area of need and we resigned someone young for cheap who showed promise. Even if he is just a rotational guy, how does it hurt? No need to believe the sky is falling over this. Still would like to add one from the draft, maybe 3 or 4th round
