Signed by Cowboys Cowboys sign DT Solomon Thomas

With the amount of junk they sign couldn’t they just take that sum and sign one real player that will actually help the team?
that would make more sense and be logical !
But jones boys use billionaire arkansas gee haw logic which only they understand lol

Loved this guy when he came up from College. Unfortunately, he hasn't done much as a pro. He gives you just enough to stick on the roster.

How Jerry Jones approaches free agency

This dude was a 1st round pick (3 overall) in 2017. His combine numbers are really good for a DT. 4.69 40, 6.95 3-cone, 4.28 shuttle, 30 reps on the bench press. He was also 273 lbs. back then.

If Mazi is an underachieve, Thomas is even more so. Thomas has 18.5 sacks, 33 TFLs, and 51 QB hits over 8 that's EIGHT, years.

I can't say this is a downgrade because Golston's stats over 4 years are similar. But Golston is not a DT, he's an DE. The Cowboys lost Joseph and Watkins at DT and neither of them is any good at this point so Thomas is a jag and a push.

This team is not getting better. The losses of Lewis and Golston make them worse so far.

These signings tell me that the early rounds of the draft will see us targeting playmakers at WR, RB, CB.

Solomon will be an excellent rotational guy at 3 tech to spell Osa and still get penetration. He can relieve the 1 tech in passing situations. The shifty movers at DT will go early in the draft. We will be able to draft 1 tech run stoppers in the middle rounds and even later, and that guy(s) will join Mazi and Justin Rodgers in the 1 tech rotation.

You cannot fill all our holes in the draft. Nor can you spend foolishly on a 1 tech in a deep draft for 1 techs, nor at 3 tech when you just gave a nice bag to your 3 tech.

The OG has more starting experience than Hoffman or Bass, so that’s like getting a guy to replace your fall back guy in Edoga. Plenty of time to sign or draft another guard or pick up a better vet after the draft.

Now, we better get something done at LB soon because we won’t find our run stopping inside backer in this draft.

We may not get super stars in the draft, but we can definitely find a wr, rb, 1 tech, and CB that is better than what we’d run out there for a game right now.

Once Jeanty goes to the Raiders, the draft will not fall in our favor.

Will we then reach for the next running back or gamble and wait until round 2?

Hopefully we can find a fair trade partner.
