I think if someone bothered to research the data, getting a UDFA kicker is better.Well, we got Bailey that way.

On top of that, there are a lot of kickers that do very well that aren't drafted at all. Why waste a draft pick when the odds of getting a quality kicker are just as good with a player that didn't cost a draft pick?Kickers are pretty risky in the draft.
It is not often one comes out and is top shelf from day one. Many of them bounce around until they get their groove.
Bai Bai Bai-iThere is no kicking competition. 3.5 million guaranteed makes The Leg your kicker. Nice knowing you, Kai. Should have come up with a good nickname.
That's what kickers do. They're up then they're down. Forbath could easily out kick Zuerlein in 2020 just like he did in 2019.
if Kai was 10 of 10 ;ast year, and career % is 86 % to Z's 82% and Z was missing from the 40 to 49 yd range last season, then this
is not a smart signing.
They are signing a name, not the best current kicker.
Kai was 100 % last season and it does not make sense to dump him for a guy with a bigger name due to some past seasons.
Also last season Kai was the better kicker, and Z had some injurys, which like with bailey can change a good kicker to not so good.
Then last Kai was much cheaper.
So dont celebrate this signing yet.
He was injured last year. He is the best kicker in football!!!
Dallas has Bailey and Forbath in camp that year as UDFA that year plus a couple more. It seems like it worked really good. Good enough to try it again.I think if someone bothered to research the data, getting a UDFA kicker is better.
Best kicker in the league...we can probably thank our ST coach for his connection.
Why would Forbath stick around knowing Dallas gave Zuerlien twice as much money.Maher was just a leg. Greg has a really good history to go along with the cannon. I look at it this way, he had to have a down year to even be available. Hoping it’s our gain, and if not, Kai is still in the fold
Does your question make any sense? The guy only made 72% of his kicks last year. We are taking a chance!I wonder why the Rams did not resign him??
Does that make sense?
I think he is top 10 in % of FG’s made which is more important! From the comments posted here, Forbath is top ten in made FG in his career.
I have less! NE will pick up Forbath and he will go 27-30 and win the Super Bowl with a 50 yarder. It's a flip of the coin. I don't have any more trust in him hitting a game winning 50 yard FG than Forbath. Probably less.
So they signed Forbath to a $1.5 million contract just nine days ago.
