Weren't we just complaining about a recent kicker on the roster who seemed iffy from 40-49???
He hit at least 1 50 yarder for us last year!Since statistics seems to be a challenge for you.
Forbath has only played in 81 games and has attempted 19 fg’s from 50+.
Stephen Gostokowski has played in 205 games and has attempted 35 fg’s from 50+.
Robbie Gould has played in played in 221 games and has attempted 41 fg’s from 50+.
Those are two other kickers who are also in the top 10 in career accuracy along with Forbath who have less attempts from 50 per game than him. Guess the coaches must know they can’t hit from 50 either.
COMPETITION I GUESS.But he has a big leg! Oh, but so does this guy! I don’t get the excitement.
Forbath is an 86% kicker - check
Zuerlien is an 82% kicker
Greg Z career FG %- 82%
Forbath career FG %- 86.7%
Greg contract- 7.2M
Kai contract- $1M
And how dumb was that? Once he got picked up by NE and us, he went 11-11 or he was PERFECT!And was a free agent in mid season........
Clear facts are hard to dispute, but some will still try.

Forbath will leave. Probably sign with NE!COMPETITION I GUESS.
Perfect on FG’s!He missed an extra point for the Pats, so not quite perfect.

This is after a quote ..
Seems to be working fine to me.
Means they must think their new kicker will be better than the 8th most accurate kicker of all time! Is that kind of dumb? This isn't a fact. Just an opinion. It seems teams don't like to keep Forbath. They move on from him quite easily. That has to mean something.
Only 137K guaranteed which is virtually nothing.Maybe a thank you for last season?

Forbath has played in 81 career games. That's the equivalent to 5 full seasons and plenty of a sample size to say his numbers are legit.Every team keeps doing it for a reason. Even the Patriots.
I think his percentage would go down if he attempted as many kicks per season as other kickers. He averages fewer than 20 attempts per season while most of the top kickers average around 30 attempts per season. His "accuracy rate" is an illusion in my opinion. I wish him success if he is the Cowboys kicker, but I don't trust him. Don't trust Zuerlein, either. Very few kickers are trustworthy over an extended period of time.

Not entirely true. Madden 21 will be out on time. Maybe they’ll play out the season that way?
The knock on Forbath has been his lack of leg strength on kickoffs, not his kicking accuracy. I suspect that's why Zuerlein was signed, along with his ties to Fassel, as he's one of the best in the league as far as kickoffs/touchbacks go. Front office is hoping he can return to his '16-'18 form FG kicking wise.Except it isn't. It isn't the same as playing 16 games per season over 5 straight seasons. It isn't maintaining accuracy late into a long season. His numbers are not legit. If they were then teams would hang on to him. Bill Belichick who knows the value of an accurate kicker wouldn't have cut him after one game.
The article in the link below has a long list of top NFL kickers. It was from last April. I don't see Forbath mentioned. Even if they included 2019 I doubt he would make that list. If he wins the job and does well, great. I won't complain. I also won't be surprised if he doesn't perform up to a high level.
