He can't be related to McClain contract situation - looks like more of a back-up Will who can play ST.

He does not look like a starter on paper...more depth and ST. if we are so cap poor that he is projected to be a starter, we be in trouble.

Texted a buddy who's a diehard charger fan, this is what he told me.
"NOO! I wanted him back! Fantastic backup for Butler who sucked last year. Decent run stopper and makes good plays on the ball. Good pick up for you. ******"

Take it for what it's worth

Ah ha - he played for Missouri - where Eberflus used to coach. Left before this guy played, but he's probably been on his radar.

Probably bumps Cam Lawrence off the roster if either were to make final 53. I don't think this means no McClain since I think he will still be relatively cheap due to off field concerns.

I agree, seem like Garrett and co. are just creating competition.. although with the cost he seems like a lock for our ST. Charger fans don't seem to like that he left, so that's a good sign. And some fans stated that he was coming on at ILB. I like the pick up. McClay seems to know how to pick off defensive players playing in a 3-4 and Marinelli will turn him into a productive player for the 4-3. Personally I see this as Bruce Carters replacement and McClain is still in play
