Cowboys sign LB Andrew Gachkar

Im thinking our LBs next year are

WLB-lee MLB Hitchens SLB Rivers

if Rivers was good enough to start on Buffalo last season he's good enough for us. Ideally i would Like McClain but its obvious the guy is unsure if he wants to play.

Assuming McClain is out...

Still have the draft. Pretty sure they select a LB but the question is when. If it's 3rd or earlier, he's got a good chance to start.

I hope there is some good knowledge of how the compensatory picks work by Stephen Jones. This is the third FA we have signed.

I know numbers do not speak to the whole nebulous formula, but I want the max of four picks next season. I do not want one of these silly signings like a fullback or depth LB to cost even a seventh round compensatory pick.

his 40 time is faster than all but 2 LBs who are entering this years draft

And he is slower than his rookie 40 by now.

I love how people assumed 3-4 years of NFL wear and tear plus age does not matter.

Well, my research and handy dandy spreadsheets indicates he is faster than all but 2 of these LBs from the Combine!

Keep adding more to the checklist entering the draft and it severely limits the flexibility.

I honestly think this is Dallas' response to the LB situation. They have signed three off the street. They are trying to eliminate that as a pressing concern, but the sad thing is they really have not done that adequately. But gosh darn it, they are trying.

Well, we all know that the NFL who is controlled by the Maras will do whatever they can to punish the Cowboys.

You really need to start considering these things when you start thinking about the impact.

If we can re-sign McClain, I'll finally be able to exhale about our LB corps.

Going from Carter & Durant ----> Rivers & Gachkar isn't exactly an upgrade, but they were able to replace two quality LB's with some guys who have some ability, while saving a ton of money in the process.
