Cherry picking at it's finest. Most of those guys were longshots to make the roster being 6th/7th round picks.

When it comes to guys who they valued high in the draft, they hit.

Sean Lee
Bruce Carter
Navorro Bowman (They had a 1st round grade on him in 2010 via the leaked draft board)
Bobby Wagner (Confirmed reports that he would've been our 2nd round pick if we didn't use the 2nd to trade up for Claiborne)

If we want a starter, I'm confident they can draft one in Rounds 2-3.

I'm cherry picking by listing the last three years of LBs drafted?

You said don't worry we got the draft and this team sure knows how to scout LBs. I posted the last three years of LB picks. I'm sorry if reality doesn't mesh with your fantasy.

The Gack Attack is back. Everybody say 'meh!'

Actually, these types of signings often turn out really well for us. A young player who gives you something on ST who's trying to earn reps in the defensive rotation. And he's a guy who can stay in the lineup. Maybe somebody to someday make us all forget about Kyle Wilber.

I don't even have much of a problem with the signing, not like the Brinkley one which I think as a complete waste of time.

I have a big problem with the way that we appear to be approaching the draft like it will cure all ills.

Then when we do not hit every choice, we will be reminded it is a crap shoot. Then it will be "in Will McClay we trust".

Free agency is supplement. You do not have to go in and blow your cap. Nor do you have to go in and scrap the bottom of the barrel.

At this stage, I would have preferred we took the little 3-5 million here and there and made a concerted effort to stabilize at least one position.

The way it looks to me on paper, we have added LB to the RB and DL areas that absolutely have to wait until April.

Unless of course there is this imaginary June 1stmas extravaganza that people still believe exists.

This thread has been one, big Alexander, Risen Star party!
They are having a blast! Makes me smile for them...

You can get in on the party too, Corso.

Don't feel all left out.

Maybe you could say this team is headed in the right direction and there is always the draft.

That seems to be the comforting mantra around here.

C'mon. You can do it.

What did the Cowboys do in free agency last year to go from 8-8 to 13-5?

You didn't know they'd become big
parts of the team. This kid has talent, let's see what he can do before rushing to judgement.

Neither has become big. Durant is what he is and what he was before the Cowboys signed him. If you seriously didn't know him then you don't follow the NFL closely. Leary was well known prior to the draft as a normally draftable G who will probably not be drafted because of the knee. It's not a shock to see him become a solid player here.

The more I read about Gachkar the more I like this signing. Eberflus was his college coach for awhile, Bisaccia had him for awhile too. Great depth, great special teamer. Had interest from other teams but has family ties to Dallas.

I love how what they did last year, with that team, automatically translates to a winning formula that has been demonstrated to be sustainable.

Different team, different mindset.

Nothing is constant from year to year.

Very convenient of you to stop at three years since Carter and Lee fell outside of that timeframe.

It is a coach driven pick. And that's fine. I think he will at least be better than say, Lawrence.

You are just begging for a "Do you know more than the team?" rebuttal.

Say they do not, just for arguments sake.

Still feel good about the organizational philosophy so far?

If he isn't signed....the question i'd ask is "why?"

Money? Concerns with where is head is at? Etc.

I'd think that'd be important to know right?

Verses making blanket statements about the organizational philosophy.

Three years is a pretty solid time frame to go on considering it most accurately involves the people making the decisions on this team currently.

This is what I do. I speak truth. I'm not a rah-rah nonsense guy. I'd love for it to be so that the Cowboys are LB U and they just churn them out effortlessly. The fact is they've drafted some pretty poor ones over the last three years. In fact, I wouldn't want a single one of those LBs on my team.
