Do you think Rob srewed over Rex, or did Rex help Rob with inside info? How does that work?

He wasn't on the practice squad so nobody really got screwed over.

Cole Beasley likely gets a gameday inactivation. Beasley only played in 4 offensive snaps last week according to PFF (I have trouble finding that many) and played in none of the special teams units. Hard to justify a game day activation with 4 total snaps. Especially when Ogletree has cemented the #3 job, and with two other backup WRs are almost assured game day activations thanks to playing in all four special teams unit.

In the meantime, another special team member was probably going to get inactivated this week with Jenkins taking Mario Butler's activation. Butler was in the Punt Return, Kickoff Coverage and Kickoff Return units last week. I'm not sure Jenkins has ever played special teams.

I wonder if McCray will take Beasley's spot on the active gameday roster. I would hate for Silva to be deactivated because he looked very good on special teams.

"He had been on the Jets Practice squad" Right I see now. I bet Rex made a pitch then.

I'm guessing ...

McCray replaces Silva
Jenkins replaces Butler
Arkin replaces Costa

I'm guessing Lewis will get the nod over Silva to replace Beasley. A CB who can return kicks has more value at the moment with Jenkins' health not yet battle tested and Felix' rib injury.

This is assuming Sensy's concussion issues are fine and he's good to go.

Cowboys Sign Cornerback LeQuan Lewis As Potential Special Teams Ace

Jason Garrett confirmed today that the Cowboys have signed cornerback LeQuan Lewis. Garrett said the Cowboys targeted Lewis specifically for his special teams abilities, which makes sense given the Cowboys face a dangerous return man in Seattle's Leon Washington on Sunday.

Lewis is a former Arizona State star. During his two-year college career, he recorded 26 tackles, one interception and also recorded 25.0-kick return average. One of those returns, a 103-yarder, can be seen in this youtube video. He also blocked a kick as a senior at ASU.

Have to wonder if this is to prepare for the possibility of trading Jenkins.

He's taking Colin Cochart's place on the 53 man roster. Played his college ball at ASU. Should be announced soon. He had been on the Jets PS. Is expected to help us on Special Teams in particular.

Did Jerra and Jason get Jenkins' OK?

Loading up on DBs...pretty impressive. They're not taking any chances like last year

Yeah, like I've said 100 times, in Ryan's system it places a premium on CBs and the backend in general. In order to run all his creative blitzes and such, he needs alot of backend support and thats exactly what we are trying to do this year.

I'm not surprised at all about the concentration on the position, hopefully we can concentrate more on safety in the future to make this backend truly elite and allow Ware to set up camp in the backfield.

I thought silva was a beast on special teams last game. Atleast on punts he was the first one down there most of the time. He is a big 6'1 about 215 and has 4.3 speed and boy did it show. So having this cb replace silva doesn't really make sense to me unless he is replacing somebody else? I guess we will find out. Unless silva got hurt:eek: or is he taking butler spot? Didn't really notice butler out there, nevermind jenkins should be taking his spot. Wonder who gets the sit down.

Article from Rant sports: 0n 6/23/12

The Oakland Raiders gave the roster’s revolving door another spin on Friday when they waived cornerback LeQuan Lewis.
Signed this offseason as a camp body in the secondary, Lewis showed little upside during his time with the Raiders. Even with the numerous questions that the Oakland defensive backfield is currently facing, the team opted to head further into the offseason without him after he failed to stick out during OTAs and offseason workouts.
After going undrafted out of Arizona State in 2011, Lewis was picked up by the Tennessee Titans as a rookie free agent. He managed to stick with the team all the way until the end of the preseason, but failed to make it through final cuts.
Considering that he couldn’t even make it as part of the Raiders 90-man offseason squad, Lewis’ chances of ever cracking an NFL roster are bleak at best. He has struggled through both of his short-lived NFL stints and could see his professional football career soon come to a close.

Somehow I am not impressed by this signing based on this read. WTH are they thinking out at the Ranch by signing this guy?

He's a special teamer, and that's it.

If he ever sees the field on defense, we're either way ahead, way behind or in big trouble.

Risen Star just popped an aneurysm.

Just tell him that Lewis can also play all 3 Oline positions.
