Actually 4 if you count Mack in an emergency with Cook, Costa, and Arkin.
While I'm chief among the people wanting improved center play, unless there is someone out there who is better than the 5 centers we have then pick him up....otherwise it is a waste of time.
Don't confuse wanting a better center with just another warm body to have another center, the position just isn't that important to have 6 of them.
I don't see where these numbers are coming from?
Now we're somehow up to
4 and
5 centers on this team?
I look and I see
1 guy capable of playing center - Cook, the guy who just got here a week and a half ago.
Does anyone really consider Arkin a viable candidate simply because he played center in training camp when we had no other option?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but he was once again inactive for last Wednesday's game, wasn't he?
And reports indicate that Costa is in no shape to play for the foreseeable future.
Facts show that despite several weeks of rest, his back rendered him incapable of playing after just one play. Does that say 'available' to anyone else?
And somehow, after snapping in practice - in the past with the Panthers - Bernardeau is now considered a viable center option?
And as per my understanding of the PUP rules, Kowalski is not even available to play for 5 more weeks at best.
So, again, I see one guy currently able to play center for the Cowboys - Cook.
And after Wednesday's game, I see several capable cornerbacks. A lot more capable than the special teamer we signed anyway.
