Why not -- the team has had surprising success eeking productivity from other league cast-offs, journeyman, etc.

The guy was a #2 round pick two years ago.. while he has been cut twice this year, you just never know....

I think this is actually a decent move, if true. At one time not all that long ago, the dude was a can't miss prospect, and obviously we are in dire need of some more help.
