This has nothing to do with either one of those guys. If the Cowboys really want to pursue those guys, signing Johnson won't stop it. This wasn't a decision between pursuing Johnson vs. pursuing Iloki or ET.

It might not preclude them from still keeping in contact with Seattle over Thomas, but I think this pretty much closes the book on Iloka.

One, how do you know it would cost $5MM to get Iloka? Given his release this late and the overall market for safeties and what they got, he's not going to sniff $5MM.

Two, if Woods is out, Iloka would start.

Three, last time we checked we didn't just need camp bodies at S. We actually needed a guy who could make the 53 and potentially eat up some significant minutes. If a guy who has been out of football for a year is that guy.............. LOL.

It wouldnt cost us $5M though to sign Iloka though? And Iloka likely starts here.

Woods' hamstring isn't as bad as people think, they are confident it won't be a nagging thing and he'll be ready by Week 1.

If it was worse, they'd be more desperate for a safety that can play. Because Jeron Jonson is barely a backup.
