Yeah, he takes that early-down left end spot. That would make Thomas an interior pass rusher. It also allows Parsons to play linebacker on first down if Eberflus wants.

I don't expect Turner to be out there much on passing downs and I don't expect Thomas to be out there much on run downs. Now, we need a big DT early to add to the rotation, specifically against the run. I'd say Alfred Collins or Tyleik Williams.

I don't mind this signing. Dallas is taking a chance on a former first-rounder, who has had injury troubles slow his career, at a fairly decent price at a position where it is looking for some depth not for a star. I mean, I'd rather add star players, but our top defender is a pass rusher and we just spent a second on a player with some potential there.

Watching some highlights, I actually like what I see from Turner as a run defender. He doesn't have any twitch as a pass rusher, pretty much a bull you or lose, but his run defense looks solid.

Dallas has an affinity for taking chances on former first-round picks and this signing further confirms that perception. While injuries have taken their toll, a change of scenery might do Turner some good. Playing alongside a team that generated the third-most sacks last season should certainly help.
