OK, so after watching a few games in the new stadium, some things popped out.

For the superbowl...they usually hang a custom banner that goes around the ring of the floor on the stands wall....our stadium doesn't have that. After looking at photos of the new stadium, how are they even going to decorate the stadium? That custom banner that wraps around is like 90% of the superbow decorations.

All the exposed concrete looks bad on tv. Just too much of it. More than any stadium I've ever seen. I hope there are plans to either stain it later or something. On tv there is nothing to show that you're watching the Cowboys stadium. The old place had the classic blue walls with white stars on them. The ground suits totally ruin both of these points. The place looks really sterile and from the renders, they are only putting cowboys logo on top of the endzone suite roof and the wall in front.

3. Camera angles. From the soccer camera angles, the stadium looks ubber boring and plain. Only time it looks exciting is the wide shot of the scoreboard and the video animated suite boards but you rarely see them. 90% of the time you're watching concrete and the small lower bowl of people. Hopefully the wider shots during football season improves this.

WTH...that ring for the ring of honor is TINY. Is it the same size as the old one?

I will give you that.. as excited as I am to watch a game there, on TV, it does look a bit boring. Nothing really says 'COWBOYS" there ...yet. I'm sure Jerry will figure something out

I mentioned the "blue wall" oversight a few weeks back. Another example of greed trumping tradition.

Maybe the concrete with be decorated with blue stars. It isn't a finished product by any means.

It doesn't look sterile to me. It looks amazing.

I agree that it won't be as identifiable it they don't find a way to put the stars on the wall.

I'm not sure where the Ring of Honor will be displayed, so I can't judge it yet.

I agree with your point about all of the exposed concrete... looks horrible and just plain cheap to be honest

anyone know of any plans to cover that crap?

Jerry knows the horror we will see on the field will totally remove exposed concrete from our complaint list.

:D

BTW, we do need some stars in that place. :)

The stadium isn't done at all, I'd wait before you start getting concerned. The things needed to have concerts/soccer there are all set, but I'm sure some other things will be altered for the start of our season.

The Cowboys are moving into the Taj Mahal of sports stadiums and people are talking about it looking "cheap."

As has been mentioned MANY times, it's not completed, but even if it was, it's still better than any other stadium IN THE WORLD.

Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Wow and I thought Cowboys fans were too hard on their team. Now we are going to nitpick the best stadium in the world before the season starts. Epic.

I'm thinking that the blimp shots with the huge star on the top will suffice. :star:

How can we have a stadium concerns thread and not talk about whether punts will hit the scoreboard?

The Cowboys just got the greatest sports complex ever built.... but still not good enough for our fans.

I'm seriously thinking about writing a book called "Most Butthurt Fans Ever."

Myself, I'm a happy fan. I love my team. I love the current crop of players. I love our chances to finally turn the corner. I love that we have a new exciting stadium. I can't imagine not being just really excited about this franchise right now.

Now that’s how you create a thread. Put pictures of samples then express the desired gripe.

Probably with Jerry, the only thing he put zero thought into would be the ring of honor. I do agree with the OP, something seems to lack with all the concrete. I think it needs stars or some color to it.

That reminds me: my parents insist on meeting you before we take in that movie. Wear something nice.

Pictures really do not do the stadium justice.

After having seen the evolution of Reliant stadium, I think people just need to be patient as they put the finishing touches on it.

The only difference in the amount of exposed concrete between the old and new stadium is that the new one is bigger and there's field level suites. Other than that? There really isn't a difference.
