The Cowboys have already hosted 4 Wide Receivers that are rated in the top 50 players per CBS:

  • (10) Quinton Johnson - TCU
  • (20) Zay Flowers - Boston College
  • (45) Josh Downs - North Carolina
  • (47) Jalin Hyatt - Tennessee
They've also hosted projected 6th round pick Jonathan Mingo of Ole Miss.
I'm Hoping this means that they are not going to resign CD for big money and just keep someone in the wings at all times to rotate thought. i'm a OU Homer and i like CD but he's not worth a big contract and his production can be replaced. Jerry needs to get out of the old thinking of Players sell Jerseys (which they do) but what sells more Jerseys is wins and consistent wins. I think in todays age of football you can get 2 things consistently in the Draft to produce on offense: [WR and RB]. you can find guys in the top 4 rounds of the draft to do those things at all times

What are the knocks on Hyatt?

With that size and speed he looks as if he could dominate, but everyone looks great on YT highlights.

A lot to like. Needs to develop and expand his route running and become a little more physical to get off man at the next level.

Did u watch the Bama game? I can give ya several games to watch.
And I can give you the 9 100 yard games that Smith had when he won the Heisman. 3 of those were 200 yard games. 1 of them the National Championship game. Please don’t tell me you think he is remotely in the same class. That is insane.

He ain’t Smith, but Williams is a pretty fair comp.

Williams got overdrafted but all it takes is 1 team to be all in on a speed threat.

Hyatt was up for the Heisman until hooker was hurt.

Hyatt destroyed teams including bama routinely. It stands alone

Williams was a better prospect. Better in all aspects. He’d be WR 1 in this class. Hyatt is prospect #40 on the consensus board. Williams may have been overdrafted a bit but without injury he‘s a top 20 prospect.

He had 5 100 yard games. And he destroyed Alabama. And he still isn‘t remotely as good as Smith. Heck there are at least 3 WR’s in this draft that are better than him.

Based off of what? They’re almost clones…same size, athletic profile and 1 year of great SEC tape.

Their weaknesses as prospects are almost identical.

How did drafting all those 1st round WRs work out for the Detroit Lions?

We can’t get into testing because we have no basis for Williams because of the injury. I suspect he’s a better athlete with better speed. Better route runner. Better in space. He’s better at everything. That“s why on your “consensus” big board he‘s at # 40. Williams would be WR #1. If you put on the tape and don’t see the difference I don’t know what to tell you.
