According to RotoTimes sources, Pacman Jones and the Cowboys have agreed to terms on a deal that would allow the talented defensive back/special teamer to play in Dallas this season. The Titans gave Jones and his agent permission to seek a trade, but at this point there are no definitive or confirmed terms to report. While Jones and the Cowboys may have agreed to compensation between the two parties, Jerry Jones and Tennessee have to reach an agreement as well. Stay tuned.[/FONT]

The crowds at the stadium have been great the last 3 years because it is a team worth rooting for, please dont ruin that with this guy.

Oh geez...this just isn't going to go away is it?

I might be saddled with the very real possibility that he's going to be a Cowboy.

It depends. Every site hits on something now and then and every site bites the dirt too. This has had wings for a long time. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that he will be a Cowboy. I'm not in favor of it myself. I don't deny the guy can play. I just don't like the baggage.

By far, the worst source for any football news is yardbarker. They take everything right out of fan forums as ideas by fans and post it as a news item.

I don't like the guy, but I'm so high on him as a player I'd be happy to take the risk as long as it's for a low round pick. I really want an elite punt returner on this team.

If true, I think Jerry's recent experience with high risk characters may have encouraged him to take another huge gamble. Or at least give it serious deliberation.

Pac's talent is amazing but his potential to bring ruin gives me the willies. Still, I haven't made up my mind yet whether to endorse the move.

Considering that nothing indicates that Goodell has any intention of reinstating Pacman this season, its all hot air.

If it is for a low round pick or two, and the contract was a contract was incentive based, then I would love the idea. If he turns everything around and becomes anouther TO, then we landed one of the true lock down CB's and best return men in the game for very cheap. But if he ends up being a head case we can get out only costing us a few late round picks that would have a hard time making the team anyway.

If true this isn't much different than the Skins coming to terms with Lance Briggs last year. They still need to work out a trade with Tennessee and there's no guarantee that the Titans will make a deal that Jones will agree with.

:starspin This is the way I undertand Goodell's take on the situation to be as well. I will be quite surprised if Pacman ends up being a Cowboy, at least this season anyway.

I'm actually on the fence with this guy. I've always said I rather have a player with TO and CJ's problems than one with serious off the field issues. But the crowds have been good becasue they are winning and have great potential. The same way the teams of the 90's were worth watching because they were winning. It had little to do with character.

If the RUMOR is true and JJ is talking about a trade I think it would be for this year. Makes me think he has indication that he'll be reinstated this year.

I disagree on that. Part of the fun with this team right now is that there are guys to root for, worth rooting for. THe other fun thing is that this team has not made those big accomplishments yet and the fans want to be there for that, the crowds reflect it. From people I have talked to and things I have read the crowds were that way in 90, 91, 92 before anything was accomplished. There were no expectations and the anticipation of great things happening is as much or more fun as them actually happening.

After the team won the super bowl the crowds expected wins during every game, that is why guys like aikman got boo'd when the era was almost over. Some of the fun was drained. All the nonsense with that 90s team mostly came out after the winning started. The fans were already expecting wins when all that stuff started coming out.

The crowds will be great this year. If they just use the draft to continue to build this draft the fans are going to love this team. There is nothing better than having a guy on your team who is really your guy and drafted by your team. Rent-A-Players are fine and a neccessity in this era of the nfl, but you dont need everyone available.
