Yes.....again, you don't know much....the coaching back then was run straight up his butt and then cut opposite to where he goes...
Emmitt was slow, he had to Bob and weave....Walker had world class speed! He needed to use it. Two different players....both great. You have to coach up a player to his strengths and tailor your scheme to your studs. If that was the case, then you;'d have Emmitt running up the butt and back of OL, .instead of bobbing & weaving, patiently knowing when
to stop & re-start, keep his feet working knowing when to just patiently when to pace for a slight crease to finally open and when to straight line burst
in-out of holes .................
Dak number 3 is one of the dumbest takes I have ever read. I mean beyond stupid.

As a return on investment, that has to be Walker.Well who said it was Cowboys career? IF it was, then its definitely a different conversation. But if we are talking about the best RB to play for the Cowboys then its Walker after Smith. One could even argue that Walker is the best RB to ever play for the Cowboys.
- Physically per size/speed ratio .. Hershel walker was the most physically equipped RB we've ever had.
But when it comes to talent, ..it's more than physical measurements.
It's how you can create ..and anyone that closely observed Walker, he just wasn't the most instinctive back.
Just running up the back of your OL isn't a showcase of talent.
Emmitt Smith wasn't the biggest and especially not the fastest ..but his gift came in how he
was able to find creases and seams and creative running even it seems gaps were bogged up, run skills are a mixture of vision, patience, balance, eluding with
both your feet and body control, .. when you have a creative back like that your OL doesn't have to hold as long - vs a back that has trouble locating creases and holes at the line.
Emmitt had vision first, never elite speed, but quick on cuts.Yes.....again, you don't know much....the coaching back then was run straight up his butt and then cut opposite to where he goes...
It's a reason why Jimmie and coaching staff thought they had to trade away their best player ... the player with the world class speed
instead of build around him. He wasn't a creator. He wasn't a big cut back guy with vision and wiggle - that made it harder on your OL.
and makes him a easier job to stop. Just keep his shoulders square to the line and he's just not gonna do very much.
Add that to Vikes still thinking the world and hype of Hershel, Cowboys being the worst NFL record and needing very value high picks and
it made sense and a urgency to trade Walker.

Zeke does have more than twice as many yards rushing as a cowboy
“Dallas” top 5

I know that you knew already.I know
Even though I hated it then, it was the best trade in NFL historyIt's a reason why Jimmie and coaching staff thought they had to trade away their best player ... the player with the world class speed

Love Emmitt, but had huge holes to run through. You dont need much vision with holes like that. If Walker looked like he didnt have vision it was because there were no holes. The guy played on horrible team with bad lines. Walker has the holes Emmitt did and he destroys it.
I find you assessment short sighted and untrue. Its like your making things up to try and justify your answer.
