Cowboys top coaching candidates according to Schefter

The fact that Jason Witten is on the list is pitiful and concerning. How many guys have actually interviewed? 3 on that list from my knowledge. Adam has a job to do, but it's only serious if there's been an interview imho.

BoZo- will wait to the last minute to hire someone. Then the new coach will have to take the worthless coaches we have to add to his staff. Cause everyone else will be gone. You can't make this crap up....

It’s looking more and more like Kellen Moore will be the choice.

I'm trying to figure out how JWitt is considered a credible choice on that list.
Probably because he was a tight end for the Cowboys and Jerry sees Campbell's success in Detroit, and JWitt is a tight end like Campbell was, so Jerry might be trying the copy cat stuff.

Last year they could have had Harbaugh, Belichick or Vrabel. Timing is everything I guess.

At age 35, Moore is one of the brightest young minds in the NFL today. To Jerry Jones and his coaching search, he’s a familiar face with upside.

The Dallas Cowboys are in the market for a new head coach and the candidate who leads many odds lists at the moment is Kellen Moore, offensive coordinator for the Eagles.

Cowboys fans will obviously remember Moore for his eight years playing and coaching in Dallas. From 2019 through 2022, Moore served as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. During that time he led the Dallas offense into the top 10 on three different occasions. His offense led the NFL in total yards two different times and the team posted 12 wins two different times. With a healthy Dak Prescott, Moore had the Cowboys consistently positioned in elite territory.

Younger and stronger NFL status but in a way similar to when Jerry brought up Johnson.

I totally forgot about Gruden who could be a kick butt HC!!!!!!!!!!!
Gruden has been my choice all along. Dude checks all the boxes for me. But we know he’s not a Jerry puppet type so it won’t happen.

an OC not doing a great job, two guys who have never coached in the NFL, an three failed former head coaches

wow jerry, well done

It’s 100% Moore

Saleh and Frazier are your Rooney rule candidates.

If Moore says no, you likely end up with Frazier.

Not sure what you want. There is no hands-down obvious choice that 51% is going to applaud as the next Tom Landry or Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells.

It's a satisfactory list.

It's not exceptional. It's also not sad.

I've said before, a lot of us were really convinced that Jimmy Johnson was an incredibly stupid choice to replace a legend... and for that first season, we felt pretty smart. Until we didn't.

I just wish more of us were less prone to extreme self-conceit.

There is quality in that list. But whether there's a HOFer in the bunch, who knows. Maybe not. Maybe.

Just give me a roster of HOFers... I'll be fine if my head coach is just adequate if you can give me a roster of HOFers.

A roster full of HOF'ers in the salary cap era....yeah let me know how that works out for ya........

It’s just space filling until Kellen Moore’s season ends

Saleh is the best choice IMO. I think he got a raw deal in NY and his defenses even there and prior to that have been stout.

But I think it’s going to be Moore because of his history with Dak, and JJ’s obsession with losing Sean Payton and trying to replace him with carrot top, and now leave it to beaver. I think Moore is a good OC, but he doesn’t strike me as imposing HC material.
