I don't think the Joneses are actually considering Witten as head coach. I think they just want him on staff as a possible future head coach. I think he'd have to "work" his way up from a position coach to offensive coordinator to coach. However, he really shouldn't come in any higher than a quality control position.

It'll probably come down to which candidate Jerry deems is the best who will also agree to Jerry's stipulations, like hirig Witten, etc.

If it's not Kellen then I think Jerry will go with a defensive minded HC. That way Jerry will let the HC choose his defensive staff while Jerry can pick the offensive staff.

They were not mediocre this season. That ship has likely sailed with Dak as the starter. Now they have to pray for as many matchups against bottom feeders as possible.
