In theory, the move to a 4-3 should've increased the number of ideal ST type players on the roster since 4-3 LBs are often fast and can tackle/hit. So much for that I guess. I hate trading for a special teamer as much as I hate drafting one. It's ridiculous. If we gave up more than a conditional 7th I'll be disgusted.

Wilber would be a much worse 43 OLB than he is a 43 DE. Much.

I thought the initial plan was to put him at SLB until RM saw something (not sure what) that made him think he could transition to DE. It has looked to good for him at DE.

I like how nearly every pick and player we get, we want to make sure they're good ST players and our ST still winds up sucking.

I know a lot of fans thought he would be an OLB because that's what he was in the 34... however, he isn't built to play OLB in Kiffin's 43 *at all*. Lacks the quickness, speed, and change of direction.

Of course. This is what teams do at this time of the year.

This is the type of way in the past we got players like Scott Shanle, Ryan fowler, Kenyon Coleman, Chris cooper etc....

Fringe players but proven on special teams. These types of guys will take snaps on st from players who will play more during the game if they make the game day roster.

Hey, if it makes our team better, I'm all for it.

Funny, when we GET a late round pick, you guys don't seem to think it's very valuable...

Now, suddenly it is wasteful to spend one on a special teams player and backup DL.

Hopefully, this works out. Can't say I'm confident since the same GM once traded a 4th and a 7th for the immortal OJ Santiago.

Every draft pick is potentially valuable if you have a competent front office.

But since we do not, it should not cause you to be troubled that there is confusion amongst the fan base.

It's got to be a late round pick. Broaddus said:

Been told Jones was for an undisclosed selection. Wanted the player made the trade. Pro department has pretty damn good on these moves.

So, since the compensation does appear to be a draft pick... common sense says it will be a later round pick. Can you imagine them giving up more than a 6th or a 7th for this guy?

Me either.

All Broaddus is saying is "conditional". Hopefully it is based on him getting a million gazillion sacks and then Andy Reid gets a seventh rounder.

C'mon man... most teams whiff with 6th and 7th rounders. We've probably done better than most the last few years.

This is much ado about nothing and you know it.
