What's more, how is our DL coach telling broadcasters in private meetings that, overall, this might be the best group of DLs he's ever worked with? Where's the disconnect?

He isn't going to come out and say the suck now is he?

A more knowledgable fan would know that this was a good move, a more knowledgable fan wouldn't cry about the staff trading a low pick for an instant contributor, a more knowledgable fan would know that after week one salaries are not guaranteed so there's no reason to assume we're done in FA...

A more knowledgeable fan? Is that supposed to be an insult? Do you somehow have some insight into what the franchise is doing? Haven't you paid attention to the last 17 years of futility and what our Front office has done? This is par for the course. The Front office has no plan or direction for the team. The react instead of act and Dallas is mired in mediocrity.

If the main guys on our defense stay healthy, ie; Ware, Lee, Carter, Carr, Claiborne, Spencer, Hatcher, Church, Allen, Scandrick, Bass, Webb,: I don't care who the other guys are. This defense is not going to be the issue on our team this year. In fact, if those guys stay healthy, we will have a top 5 defense this year.

Special teams on this team has been a big issue. If you don't know that, or don't care about that, it is pointless to debate or argue with you. Is this one trade going to make or break our ST play, NO. Is it going to help, YES. End of story. It's not that big of deal either way. We are switching a 6th for a 7th. Who cares??? It's literally moving down a few spots and picking up a guy who can contribute immediately. Most 6th and 7th round guys are pretty close to the same talent anyways. Arguing about this is silly. If your on the side of why aren't we looking for offensive line help, then OK, I can deal with that. But our defense played LIGHTS OUT this preseason, and that was with missing a couple starters. We added TWO DC's that are very good at what they do. Again, who's plaiying DT is not going to be the issue this team has...

You really don't know what you're talking about and you come off like a raving madman. Just wanted to say that. Carry on...

I appreciate that, I know but I know I nailed it.

Yeah, but I was trying to find a way to let you know that you really hit it out of the park that time.

He isn't going to come out and say the suck now is he?

Exactly! He won't say they suck, he can't do that, he's a coach on the team. So instead, he tells everybody they may be the best group he's ever worked with, just to throw everybody off the track. Then, later, when they stink, he can just say he doesn't know what happened, or whatever.

And yet, you remain a fan! Why?

If, as you say, the Cowboys are mired in mediocrity due to the mismanagement of the front office, then, this pattern is bound to continue for at least a generation. Are you prepared to root for a mediocre team for (at the minimum) the next 20 years?

I have always contended that it is no disgrace to abandon a team that you no longer feel is working toward success ... or for any reason at all, actually.

What you and several others seem to be doing is analogous to someone banging his head on a door frame. It hurts like the devil. You hate that it hurt and will hurt again if you repeat the action. Yet, you keep doing it. Is there dried blood on your door frame. Is your forehead marked with scars? Perhaps you actually enjoy the pain.

If there is no hope, in your mind, move on.

It is one thing to criticize some move of the team. But, to remain a fan of a team that you KNOW cannot improve under a management team that will outlive many of us seems to me to be the depth of folly.
