Chances are they would have used a late round pick on special teams next year and blow it, this way you get a proven special teams ace and dont risk losing him to another team. They are trying to address the weakest unit this preseason and im all for it.

Great point. Also with the roster churn that will no doubt happen over the next couple of days, there is a reasonable chance we pick up the late round pick we gave up for Jones.

You would have said the same thing about Laurent Robinson when we picked him up off of San Diego's roster.

You don't know what this guys gonna do here. Clearly a pro personnel dept that has been one of the best at finding players off the street and UDFA's liked him.

Besides, it will only be a conditional late round pick for crying out loud.
