Worthy was a 2nd round pick (I think) by a 'real' GM now traded for a late round pick.
I would have rather gotten the pick.
He might have been hyped a tad by a few optimistic fans but never as much as you or others make it out to be. The great threads you posted pretty much prove it.
Well, like the Stones sing, "You can't always get what you want..." I seriously doubt the Pats would have offered a late draft pick for Bass.
If that 'real' GM continues to make decisions like that, he will be fired.
Guess who won't be?
He'll probably be an all pro.
There was more than enough half-hearted commentary during the draft and free agency period made by quite a few to actually create a backlash.
There is a real distinct reashowever Bass became a fake cult hero around here. And it was not threads, it was constant little commentary that was based on zero.
Okay. But when do we find that we get what we need?
~Furley sniff~
When are we going to scoop up the best DL talent in the league?
Or does this mean we have the best DL talent in the league already?
Does this mean the flow of Ben Bass jokes is about to be plugged?

I don't think he was.
The team is big on Bishop and Coleman.
Bass wasn't going to beat out McClain and Melton.
Then you have Brent (probably) coming back.
That's 5 DT's right there.
And then you have a seemingly army of DE's that can move inside on passing downs.
Brent isn't helping any time soon. Who's the last guy (especially his size) who missed significant time from all activities and was in good enough shape to even practice?
Saying he wasn't going to make the roster this early is foolish regardless of which player they are high on. You'd think a team with this many injuries would pause before basically cutting a guy after preseason week 1.
You've never heard of the legendary Ben Bass?
Blasphemy.

Well since there was so much of this stuff that he became a fake "cult hero" it should be easy for you to pull up thread after thread of some other posters saying it like he was going to be a great player. However the real odds are that you are full of hyperbole and next to nobody ever thought he was going to be as good as you pretended them to say.
Let me know when you get some better threads than those weak ones, this time find some that support your over the top bull.
Yes. They must.Does this mean the flow of Ben Bass jokes is about to be plugged?
