Not a big fan of this move, but I will wait and see what happens, how he does and how he is used.
He is now a Cowboy, so will root for him to do very well.
Not going to be upset, nor over joyed.
Just go and help us win.

He's more explosive than Murray... Very few backs in the league have the raw ability of Michael. I don't know this for sure, but I wold imagine his sparq score rivals Adrian Peterson's.

There's a blurb out there reporting that the Texas A&M Strength coach, who trained both AD and Michael, believes Michael's overall athleticism and explosiveness are on par with AD.

Gardner didn't get claimed so he'll most likely make the PS. That means we'll have him waiting in case we decide tob release Dunbar and call up a DE.

For a seventh rounder, well worth a shot. I just don't think they trust Randle (knucklehead) or McFadden (injury prone).

Sort of reminds me of Murray..

the stiff arm and punishing pop at the point of contact.

Also the injury label is the same as Murray.

I think this is essential to helping Randle and DMac survive the coming season.

Don't think it leaves Dunbar any carries though.

He's not Emmitt.

Ball control is not an issue to sweep under the rug. If he can't protect the football, he can't play. No matter how good he looks running it.

The word from the Hawks forum is that he does struggle some with ball security because how he holds the ball.

Yet, Murray also had this issue and we all know how that worked out.

Some indicated his pass blocking is not great, similar to Randle but the guy is an explosive runner.

The explosiveness and running talent is where he will excel behind this line.

Considering a conditional seventh, it is a low risk move with potential for high reward.

Some idiots over on the Hawks forum tried to say our OL was not great due to performance of the Vikings preseason game (lol) and another said we still have no defense, ignorance is bliss I suppose.

McHammy might not make it 8 games. - long hair don't care

Randle might not be mature enough to raise his level of play & may get Romo killed. - long hair don't care

JAGbar is just wasting a roster spot - again, long hair don't care

Welcome to Big D Christine! The rest of that crap will work itself out. Now it's time for some football!

I have to revise my 9-7 to 12-4 on this move alone. Such an exciting day. :flagwave::flagwave::flagwave:

We really gonna carry four RBs? I find that prospect pretty unappealing. Michael probably doesn't cover kicks, does he?

I don't have a problem with it until we get the position sorted out, and if that takes the whole season, then so be it.

I've always been in favor of throwing more bodies at the position when you've got no one who is really proven. If one of the backs emerges, then we can look to drop one of the others.

Hopefully he'll work out like Ryan Grant did for the Packers, who got him from the Giants for a conditional 6th.

We'll see how everything works out but this is the type of move Stephen Jones had been looking for all along. You get a young talented RB whose strengths address what the position was lacking. Obviously not a perfect player and a team did just give up on him, but this guy probably is viewed by the NFL as the best RB on the roster now.

Yes, and this makes me forgive not drafting a running back in the third or fourth round. I just wanted us to bring in some kind of competition, whether it be a draft pick or a young player.

This makes me happy, even if it doesn't turn out the way that I hopes. Is it the perfect move? Possibly not. Michael could lay an egg here. But at least Dallas is hedging its bets in a potential Super Bowl season.
