Because all the naysayers want to be right and this is their moment to scream, "I told you so", and brag about being "right".

And that is any different from the opposite opinion? Yeah, I haven't seen a single person around here gloating after last season when their prediction of a banner year finally came true. Nope, not at all.

Pretty disappointing to come on here today and see this pickup getting the usual bashing.

We got Michael and Dmac for practically nothing. If either if these guys pan out it's a steal. If both do it's Katie bar the door!
It is only perceived as bashing because anything remotely differing from THIS IS A STEAL!! GO COWBOYS!!! is abhorrent to you.

I think most people on here like the pickup but recognize that this is a player who comes with a few red flags and is going to have to prove his spot on the roster before he can be considered this running game's savior. If he shows up and isn't a complete doofus, he's another RB in the wheelhouse, which is perfectly fine.

I dont know much about CM.

Good depth, and maybe something more?

Obviously, the coaches and FO, don't feel as good about the RBs as they were letting on...... apparently, they saw enough in training camp, to.......scare them into a trade!! Thats not exactly ....."good"

They are going to churn until they find the guy..... lets hope it doesnt take all season long....or into next season;

.

I'm optimistic about you being a troll.

As a fan I can create reasons for anything I want to be optimistic about. Just like you pull reasons out of your butt to justify your opinions that you like to call "Realism." Yet, they are no different than anyone else's.

You threw down the troll card quicker than I thought. Somewhat disappointing, but I will get over it.

Next time, just say you are being a happy fan and won't back up what you say. Could save a few posts.

What else can we ask for on cut day for a CONDITIONAL 7th rounder? This is a good trade for the situation.

Some people are happier being miserable if that makes sense. Don't sweat it - nothing wrong with optimism in sports and cheering for your team. Others take a different tack and view sports as a chance to prove they could be a professional GM or coach from the couch.

I threw down the troll card quicker than you thought? What does that mean? You knew I already knew months ago, but didn't think I'd have the fortitude to say it in passing? Its not like its a secret.

Your opinions aren't backed with more facts than anyone elses. Your handle is an expression on these boards for a reason. But at any rate, you have a right to your biased opinion as do I and everyone else. Let it go mate. Let it go.

Of course he has to prove it. Every player has to prove it every year, every game.

Murray has to prove he didn't have a career year behind a stellar line.
Romo has to prove he is not too old and can take the team all the way.
Every RB we got has to prove they can be a stud.

A fan being optimistic does not preclude a player having something to prove.

I guess thats better than having daylight to break one for 90 but only getting 35 and then putting it on the ground.

The way I see the RB situation is, Randle likely is the best runner on the roster, but can't pass protect, so while I think he starts the season as the #1, McFadden will eventually get the bulk of the carries. But McFadden can't be counted on to get all the carries, he's shown that he isn't that guy. So if Michael can pass protect, he'll eventually make Randle expendable, but if not, he'll never see the field barring injury.

I just like the fact we got a guy who physically can be a short-yardage guy, plus a traditional backup running back (ie not Dunbar) for when McFadden goes down.

I do think he might walk in the door here, realize the opportunity ahead, and have a different mindset than when being permanently stuck behind Lynch. A young guy who is mentally fragile can probably struggle to see the forest thru the trees as "the future back." Here, it could be his by Week 2 for all intents and purposes.

My own unproven view is the team is iffy on Randle because he is such an idiot. He could miss a block due to stupidity that knocks Romo out for the season. He could get high and arrested the night before a big game.

I think assuming good health all around the 1-2 punch will shake out to be DMac and Michael.

i feel a lot better with this guy than i did without him.

This I agree with. He might be the one back on this roster capable of muscling a two yard gain on 3rd and 1. But that never happens since our OL blows everyone of the line of scrimmage.

Outstanding post. Mainly because you explained your position.

Any of you who are upset with this trade are either the type of person who just wants something to argue about. Or, just a person who doesn't know much. Look at all the seventh round picks we have made in the last 1,2,5,10,20 years. How many of those guys really have mattered at all? End of story!!!!
