TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

JJ will sign him to a new contract, things will sour in a couple years and JJ will trade him for a 6th rd pick

So you are so hurt they didn't fill your need on DT that any move that improves the team must be bad.

How about you explain how adding Pickens does not help us. The team who scores the most points wins the games. So yea offense matters also.

So which DT is on the trading block for a 3rd we could have gotten instead?

Next years 3rd would not have been enough to move up in the draft. It cost way more.

Stop the stupid strawman crap with a jersey. I am a grown man who isn't wearing a shirt with another mans name on it.
what!?

its not just DT...that was an example. how about LB? saftey? or even CB that has 3 CBs coming off major injuries. you think those are not needs, but WR 2 is higher need?

and I guess you are hard of hearing (or comprehension). I have said several times making the offense better with crap for defense is not going to lead to post season success. just see 21,22,23....what did that top 5 offense get us? NADA. in 23 we were top scoring team....

so why trade for a position that doesn't lead us to post season success. either trade for defensive player or don't. keep it. specially a trade for a player that's essentially a one year rental!

put more resources on defense.

and its not a strawman jersey comment. Jerry collects all the money for jersey sales. and he loves having Dak, CD, Parsons, and at one point Diggs in the top 20 jersey sales.
every move Jerry makes has a marketing angle to it. even the mingo trade last year, for a team that is full of injuries. going nowhere fast, but seats getting empty, being blamed for not being all in, making a move to bring people back to the stadium. its the truth about jerry. everyone knows (perhaps except you).

and you may not buy a jersey, but you know what. A LOT OF FANS do....

i'm not assuming anything. i said they can be good. there's talent there. they've been good 3 out of the last 4 years and i like the moves they've made. we're not the eagles or the chiefs, we have to build our team as is, and they've done a good job this year. i haven't been happy with much of the roster building the past couple of years, but this year i don't have much to complain about. yes the defense needs improving, and if they'd focused on the defense as much as you'd have liked then the offense would have been anemic and without a mahomes to bail them out. also philly turned the corner after trading for aj brown.
right now, there is parsons as top elite player. Osa as above average. and then there is the rest....I don't see talent. CBs, top 3 coming off major injuries. LBs are a mess. the best LB is hurt, yet again. and this defense was awful before injuries last year. the prior years, they struggled against good teams and beat up on bad bottom feeding offenses.

the defense needs a lot of improving if they are to get anywhere in post season. all the offense in the world won't get them to the CCG.

ah, the tried and true eye test gotcha. we've seen different things then. if you want to argue he's not a good qb, fine. want to point to the humiliating losses and deer in headlights? i'm with you. not being good at the deep ball is empirically false though.
Well yeah. People are supposed to "watch" football, not google the data. It's how I know when the "metrics" are false.

I wish I knew how & had the time to post videos. We could all review some deep balls & re-ask the question what do you believe? What you see or someone's numbers?

We added 2 higher end pass rushers this offseason.
It really doesn't even matter. Adding to the offense is not taking from the defense. Both are possible. When we added to the defense it didn't make us not improve the offense. Both can happen.

You are just so upset and have decided any improvements that are not exclusive to the defense would cause you to have a temper tantrum. I get it now.
two? who? the guy who was here and we let him walk...namely Fowler? and a rookie!?

adding to the offense is taking resources away from investing in defense. we just lost a 3rd round pick. lets say he does well and we decide to resign him. yet another large contract to an offensive player, which takes away cap space to spend on high end defensive players. lets say he walks and get a large contract somewhere (helping you here) and we get a 3rd round pick, which is essentially top of the 4th, given its after the 32nd pick of the actual 3rd round. so we trade a higher 3rd round pick for a 4th round pick and got a one year rental!!!! for a team that clearly is not ready to compete for a superbowl. why?

Seems the entire football world was in agreement that we NEEDED a #2 WR except you and a few negative to be negative posters here.

You don't have to like it but we absolutely needed another WR for this offense to compete.
You want to make it offense vs defense but again who are you adding for a 3rd that would improve the defense as much as we just improved the offense?

You mention LB, DT, CB... ok so go ahead and tell me a player at these positions that we could have gotten for a 3rd that would come in an be a day 1 starter. We just traded a 3rd for a guy who is probably a top 10 player in the league at his position. His cap hit this year is 3m. If we had options to do this with any defenders and we passed on it then cry.

So much for the character guys the new coach wanted LOL, I hope people will shut up about what the coach wants because after nearly 30 years of this garbage we should realize that what the coach wants does not matter at all

Yup. The rookie considered by almost every expert as the best pass rusher coming out this year. Also a 2nd round pick. We also added Fowler who had 10 sacks last season. The fact that you want to diminish both shows you are just hurt and can't focus on reality. We also just paid Osi huge. We have a big contract tied up in Diggs, we will be paying Bland soon. Parsons obviously.

We have the money to pay the players. Look over at the eagles and the salaries they have on offense. This idea we can't pay people is tired.

No proof its a rental at all. You need that to be the narrative to make your point because your point doesn't have legs on its own.

You are just whining. You value a 3rd so highly yet you discredit the players we just spent a 2nd and a 3rd on who play on the side of the ball you are crying about.

Sorry to the pessimistic but we just added a top tier WR which so many fans were bugging about right? Ironed out the middle of our oline, have at least some hope at RB. Whether we believe there will be impact we did draft de, lb, DT and cb. I wished for S but having resigned Juanyeh, Bell and Mukuamu I think they wanna give them fair shot (hopefully). If they trade for valid DT I would say playoffs at least but don't mind giving the big DT some chances to clog up something. Point is we can't jus complain even after a decent off-season and then making moves to get better.

the entire football world agreed that we needed DTs, LBs, Safties....but yeah, lets go get a WR2....

we also needed a TE, a RT, and Slot CB........

this offense was 11th last year in passing. because they lacked a running game. we threw 4 RBs at the problem, 2 in the draft.

you just got a 1 year rental. if we don't win a championship, then it was not the right trade.

and I guess they shipped pickens some of the Cowboys koolaids, because he is now a top 10 WR, where last year he was 59th in catches, 32nd in yards. 82nd in TDs...
what is wrong with you people?

Gulp, gulp….get those tickets and merchandise.

fact is this team is not ready to compete for championship. not close to the top tier of the teams in the league. not with this defense.

and we drafted those players, and you are assuming they are going to be good. can't every one of the other 31 teams make the same claim?

and I would have preferred to trade up in first round and get graham, who would have a higher impact on the team than a RG, which we could have gotten in mid rounds. maybe not as good as booker, but Mazi -> Graham is a bigger impact, than a RG, the 5th most important offensive line position with slightly lesser player.

and Bell and Mukuamu are what they are in the 4th year in the league.

spend resources on defense. not offense. 21,22,23 we had top 5 offense. 23 being top scoring team. yet nothing to show in post season.

defense wins championship. offense sells tickets and jerseys.
