He'll be a pass-rushing RDE specialist on 3rd downs. Too light otherwise and isn't fit for Will. He has a good sack ratio per pass rush attempt. That's his gig. I'd probably cut ties with Mayowa to make room. I'd be nervous if I was Tapper, too.

The majority of Elliott's snaps came in Dime and Nickel subpackages, where he served almost exclusively as a standup end. Elliott also appeared on special teams in kickoff coverage.

Sounds like he is a good pass rusher but they didn't want him in coverage. Most 3-4 teams use 4 man line in obvious passing situations with 3-4 OLBs playing as DEs.

But it is a fact that we cut Blanton who was a ST contributor, therefore we are likely looking for help there. Also-- I am 99% sure Elliott played STs in GB, so he could probably step in and help us

Elliott has had some spurts of production beyond STs. Nzeocha, not so much.

I'm glad that we cut Nzeocha for him. Nzeocha was a huge disappointment for me. Physically, he's as gifted as you could ask a LBer to be. He's the guy you want getting off the bus first, but he can't seem to make plays when they come to him. He gets lost in space, doesn't maintain lane integrity on special teams and he misses tackles. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

I'm intrigued by Jayrone, but I think this is another Gachkar/Dekoda Watson move where we get a special teams guy who has the talent to contribute on defense, but we quickly learn that there is a reason why he's a special teamer. This move was more of an indictment on Nzeocha than anything.
