TRADED Cowboys trade for OT Broderick Jones

We did not give up a 3rd pick we gave up the difference between most likely a high 3rd for a low 4th and a 6th.

There is a big difference between a day 2 pick and a day 3 pick. This should have been a conditional 6th round pick at the most. This guy has shown nothing in 3 seasons. He is a bust. You don't trade day 2 picks for a bust. They are celebrating this trade in Pittsburgh (literally), and we are getting panned by just about every news outlet not on Jerry's payroll.

I understand the premise of the trade, a 3rd pick is surprising.

They didn't have a 4th or 5th so the exchange they gave up is the value of a 4th.

I sincerely hope this young man works out here but I'd have taken out a flyer on Rosie Greer instead.

Could have gotten him without giving away trade capital.

PS....I referred to him as " young man" because it just seems to make us feel warm and fuzzy

Let's hope he is Morgan Moses for us. Bad with Steelers but becomes a staple of our offensive line with a change of scenery (coaches and scheme).

Morgan Moses​

Riley Reiff​

• The Struggle: Drafted 23rd overall by the Detroit Lions in 2012, Reiff had a turbulent run in Detroit. He was continually reshuffled between left and right tackle and struggled with quick edge rushers, leading the Lions to let him walk.
• The Turnaround: Reiff signed with the division-rival Minnesota Vikings in 2017. Stabilized as their full-time left tackle, he delivered four quality seasons as a reliable veteran pass protector, earning contract extensions and anchoring a playoff-bound offensive line.

Yeah, you really don't know with players. I don't like that we gave up the third for him based on his performance up to this point, even getting back the fourth. He probably should not have cost more than a sixth. However, I am happy that Dallas identified a problem and at least is taking a shot at fixing it. As I've said in the past, the draft and develop technique hasn't exactly worked out for us, so I'm OK with trying, even if the attempt fails.

Only difference we have is if Jones is ready to play I'm not keeping two crappy OTs behind him so Thomas goes for Leverett

I can live with that ... I mean, the main reason we traded for Jones is because Thomas took a step back. I just don't know how much our scheme is different and how long it will take to get Jones up to speed. With his injury recover, he may need some time before he's really even ready to compete. I give him credit for coming back as quickly as he did, but he might be rushing things out of a desire to prove himself.
