Star-Telegram article today on 10 thoughts from Day One. Jones is quoted as saying they didn't find out who the Ravens wanted until after the pick. He turned down the offer before knowing they wanted Elliott but claims Newsome was going to tell him if they were able to work out a deal just to be sure they weren't taking the same player.

And LOL at my comments about the team? What's that mean?

OK still seeing that ravens wanted Zeke. If Dallas wanted Zeke then I have no problem with not trading down and losing that player. Again believe what you want but doesn't make it fact

That you bash Jerry every chance you can get.

Of course you guys read what you want. I bash Jerry when it warrants it. Signing Thornton was a shrewd move by him. Wanting Manziel was a boneheaded thought by him. Drafting to load up the OL was smart by him. Passing on Murray and a big contract was a very wise move by him. Changing their outlook on TBs was a mistake by him IMO. If Garrett can't get this team back into the playoffs and a serious NFC contender this year, I think it would be a mistake to continue with Garrett.

I am sorry I don't look through everything with silver and blue glasses. 20+ years without even a NFC Title game appearance. Jerry deserves a lot of blame for that because he's been the GM throughout that stretch. So yeah, I think it's quite possible he panicked a bit thinking someone would swoop in at 5 and take Elliott and now when it appears that wouldn't have been the case, he spins it his way. He's certainly tried to spin things in the past.

According to Schefter and Jerry Jones the offer was a 2nd and a 3rd.

Not for Seattle, maybe for buffalo trade.

Dallas 3rd pick is almost a 2nd rounder and Denver 3rd is almost a 4th. Seattle or any team takes Dallas 2nd and 3rd over Denver

Seattle wanted the 5th year option that was the difference in choosing Denver.

Which is why I am hoping there is no chance Jerry goes QB at 34. He seemed to want that 5th year option for a QB to fit into the Romo timeline.

Again. According to Schefter and Jerry the offer to SEATTLE was a 2nd and 3rd. Are they both lying? Possibly, but have no reason to. The 5th year option on the 1st round pick is very appealing to teams and that's what Denver offered.

According to Schefter and Jerry Jones the offer was a 2nd and a 3rd. Denver sending back a first (with a 5th year option) was the selling point.

Then I'm glad Denver outbid us. I was willing to give up a second and fourth for a QB project, but draw the line at giving up both of our second-day picks.

If they offered 31+94 and we offered 34+67, then Seattle is dumb for taking their offer. That's why this is unlikely to be true

5th year option is huge to owners and GMs. That's why it's believable. We won't know the offer so no use in arguing over it...Excited for round 2 and 3 today!

Haven't seen that but nobody takes 2nd and 4th over 2 2nds. They took a OG they could have moved back up and still had 2 2nds and a 3rd.

But if that was what was said then I'm wrong but everything I have seen is jerry said they offered 2nd and 4th while Denver offer was a 3rd but jerry didn't get a chance to counter such he would have sweeten the deal. .....possibly 2nd and 3rd then
