CFZ Cowboys Use 11 Draft Picks in 2023 NFL draft

Just to be crystal clear, there will be some drafted players who bust from this draft class. There always are. But you have to wait on some players to develop. If the Cowboys bailed on players like S Donovan Wilson after two years, like some fans do, then they never would have seen him develop into the assassin he was last year for the Cowboys' defense.

I get your point and not to derail it but these idiots loved Wilson ever since preseason rookie year lol.

What? That’s exactly how it works…..the hell? Eagles had a great draft last year and people mentioned AJ Brown.

I did not call anyone that, and you know it. I only stated I tell the truth in my posts, as you came at me as if I was making stuff up.

Aero has shown his true colors since they made the SB. He couldn’t hide the Philly in him too long but at least he owns up to his fandom. A lot of guys are afraid to admit they are Philly fans but you typically find out who they are when Philly makes a move….

Quit referring to internet rankings. Dallas’ draft board is nothing similar so you will constantly be disappointed. Just the way it is.

Does not mean the boys are right, either. I am fine with Mazi; and the boys had info the Chief's wanted him sot taking him where they did is ok; I imagine they looked at dropping a couple of slots but it takes two to tango. The second round pick is the one I have real heartburn with. He was NOT the best blocking TE in the draft and everyone knows it; a very WEAK defense. They fell in love with a guy and over rated him. They could have traded down a number of spots and still got him. The rest of the draft is meh with some hopeful projects. Third round they SHOULD have looked for a guard; we have PLENTY of pass rush. We got some raw types that may develope and may bust. Overall I would give this draft somewhere between a b and b -.

But then no one really knows about drafts. 2009 was the last one we had that I knew right away was a disaster. A couple of drafts I thought were meh turned out good; and a couple that I had hope for being good turned out meh or worse. The old Landry and BP term about waiting 3 years to fully evaluate a draft still mostly holds true to this day.

No one said they are right. I hate the way they seem to be approaching the drsft. To me it appears they prechoose their picks or a handful of guys for each of their spots and then purposely elevate them much higher on their board than most everybody else. There is no other explanation for them having Mazi as the 14th best player when the entire universe had him 30-40. This also explains their continued reluctance to trade down because they are not prepared to go with the flow of the draft. They have predetermined who they want and won’t deviate if the player is there. They player is always there because he is a round higher on their board than everyone else’s. Should they trade down and lose the prepicked player, they have no contingency and their entire plan will be ruined. It doesn’t matter who has fallen unexpectedly. Taking the falling player would blow up their entire plan. They used to seem to only do this with the 1st round pick and then would wheel and deal in the other rounds. Now it appears to me that they are doing it with each round. That is why I said that buying into the ranking on the internet and watching the draft and hoping for a player from the best available list is pointless and only going to cause disappointment. Their board contains their preselected players for each pick ranked way higher so that they are there when the pick comes and they can proclaim he was the highest player on their board. There is no other explanation I can come up with for how their rankings seem to be so far off from everyone else’s.
