There was a lot more garbage on that field other than the turnovers.
Tony's inaccuracy on ALL throws, horrid play calls, defense bailed out by questionable penalties, secondary letting guys run wide open all day.
There is not going to be few if any secondaries that are going to stop people these days esp with a mobile QB who can throw on the run like Kap. Having said that we missed OScan. I didn't see much of the game with Church out so maybe we had some 'garbage' then. But the D played reasonably well considering todays' defenses. We got a lot more pressure than most people even imagined. Our LBers played pretty well. We did give up a bit much in the run game but not a great deal.
It was the turnovers that killed us. We had less that a 7% chance of winning. I don't even know the %'s with a -4 TO diff but it is less than 7%. If you add in returning two for either a TD or to the one then you likely make that worse if that's possible. Still we weren't that far out of the game towards the end. And that's with horrid RZ play calling that courted disaster. Our run blocking was great. Our pass blocking was substandard. How many times did Romo get sacked??
Other than Romo and some questionable to be nice play calling there wasn't really any garbage on the field. I'll give them two long runs altho reluctantly. Most people thought they'd run all over us all game long. Most thought the LBers were a huge question mark and they weren't. I've never been a Carr or Claiborne fan and I'd have to agree they are marginal players although you have to understand many secondaries are marginal. Few are good and even they give up a lot.
It's an offensive paradise these days. Keeping it less than crazy is reasonable now.
Romo plays less stupid and we run the ball inside the five much more and we can win some games. Garbage is hyperbole here with the exception Romo played like garbage this game. That much we agree on.
