Aikman named like 6 guys Arizona was missing, but they still find a way to win.

Philly just beat the Texans with freaking Mark "butt fumble" Sanchez at QB.

Injuries are part of the game, the best teams find a way to win with backups, the rest just complain..........................it appears we are in that second group.

We'll see what happens with the Eagles when Sanchez has to start for a long period .

No ... we hand out cap crippling $100 million contracts to a QB who can't finish a season.

Was this as he was falling out of bounds after already getting the right foot down clean and tapping with the left or before? Too hard to tell in this still, I thought it was a clean catch watching on the tv

The reply I saw on tv looked like a clean catch and both feet in bounds. Was a heck of a throw with touch

How did he make it out of training camp?

I honestly think it was a coverup. They probably knew he stared down receivers in camp but never made a big deal out of it. Its either than or they simply signed him without looking at film. Hence WeedenGate. Dumb, dumb mistake.

read on another forum:

potential season ending injuries to McClain and Crawford,

hope this person was talking out of his *** but if not, that will be devastating

Jags playing Cinci tuff, no gimme next week plus I think the jags have an edge in that they are used to playing over there, if Weeden plays, its going to be tuff to win

Slim pickins at QB...

Josh Freeman
Ricky Ray (CFL)
Jeff Garcia
Thad Lewis
Trent Edwards
Rex Grossman
Vince Young

I like Garrett, but he has a real blind spot for backup QBs. Too willing to give the benefit of the doubt. Brad Johnson couldn't play. Kitna went a year too long. Orton was a cry baby. Weeden cannot hit anything moving.

Really not looking forward to the post-Romo years.

That's just not true. Teams can overcome injuries if they have depth behind those injured players, but with a 53 man roster and the salary cap system, no teams have sufficient depth everywhere. That makes injuries and the lottery of who you happen to be playing when some of your players out way more important than it needs to be.
The league needs to expand the roster and it needs to allow teams to have more players available on game day. There's no reason why every team can't always be carrying a 3rd QB who can learn the system on the bench and know what he's doing when he finally gets into the game. And playoff teams shouldn't be pulling in DLs or Ss off the street and then starting them a week later during a playoff push. It's bad for the game.

And *nobody* is complaining about injuries as they specifically relate to the Cowboys. It just stinks to see the quality of play on the field get worse during the year as good players get hurt. That goes for us and for anybody we're playing.

I noticed last week that Foles seemed to be locking in on one receiver down-field, and if he couldn't get open, Foles would just throw it in the stands. Maybe we should try that with Weeden, since he seems to lock onto one receiver anyway. We'll have a few incompletions, but when it connects, it is for a big gain.

Or cap crippling 50 Mil contracts to CBs who don't get hurt and stay in there and get beat time after time.

It was before the 2nd foot. I didn't post the series of stills since the imgur embed is smaller than a linked image, but there is a clear difference between what is inbounds and what isn't. They didn't frame by frame it on TV, though, just slow mo. It's very close, but he's out.

We'll see what happens with the Eagles when Sanchez has to start for a long period .

Again, teams have a hard time adjusting to a back up who comes in the game because the game plan has been developed around the starter. That's why Weeden looked like he was doing so well in the Commanders game. But when a team has a chance to prepare for the backup, well, you see what happened. If Sanchez has to start for the Eagles next week, I'm guessing he'll face the same situation. Then again, he had a lousy team with the Jets.
