That's what happens when you don't have your franchise QB out there. I'd imagine it's similar with most teams who lose one.

I think most teams have a backup QB capable of performing better than that. It's not like every team goes from franchise QB to completely incapable of running the offense when the starting QB is out.

Foles went down in the first half today. Sanchez filled in and got the win.

Soooo this is why I never thought much of Brandon Weeden. That was basically Cleveland's Brandon Weeden, and today, he couldn't use the excuse, "Well, this is Cleveland." The dude isn't an NFL QB. Can we all finally agree on that?

i was one that was hoping he would play good today..

i was wrong..

i still think some of it was the playcalling.... but he locked in on bryant all day and ignored wide open receivers..

totally unexcusable.

@Idgit I tried to quote you in the second half thread but it closed. I was one of the people who thought Weeden would be an alright bus driver. I was waAaaay wrong.

:) fair enough. I wasn't calling anyone out in particular. Mostly, I was just curious if a bunch of people had changed their stripes, because it seemed like a large majority of the board wanted to start him over Tony even if Tony could go, but in those game threads, BW was getting so universally trashed. Of course, I agree with you that he deserved to get trashed today. Not a good game.

Weeden seems to lack accuracy and touch. And pocket awareness. And field vision. And... yeeeeesh.

He appears so far to be a fastball pitcher with no offspeed, curve, or ability to paint a corner in his acumen.

So basically he can't play

Oh don't get me wrong. I would always take Romo. I just believed by Friday if he hadn't practiced it wouldn't happen. I am wearing my Romo t-shirt right now. I love that man. Dimples and all. Total man crush.

Jets fans are wishing they still had Sanchez.

While your point is sound, the two of them aren't in the same level as Romo. Their absence is much more replaceable.

But equally you can say they're better teams as they can win with inferior QB play.

We need Romo to be on top of his game week in, week out, even with Murray doing what he's doing.

And it's been that way for a long time.
