Before the Cowboys boarded a train for La Jolla on Friday, their practice consisted of a walkthrough that simulated their pre-game warmup.
I'm not making it up. They worked on the progressions of position groups and where they lined up for drills.
The practice must have worked. So far there have been no mistakes.

There was a noticeable roar when Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo hit the field. Then again, all those Cowboys fans here could have been cheering for Richard Bartel.
The Chargers' quarterbacks just hit the field. Billy Volek was treated like a conquering hero. There was a smattering of boos, too.
It's going to be interesting to see how many Cowboys fans are here tonight in total. As we all know, America's Team draws a crowd anywhere they go.

Apologies to the fine folks at Qualcomm, but this stadium was once named for a sportswriter and we are duty bound to remember that. And with this being one of the last open-air press boxes in the NFL, it's another reason to treasure this spot. Too many of the new stadiums are antiseptic.
It seems many of the fans that came to the 2005 season opener are here tonight. It was amazing to see just how many Cowboys' jerseys were in the parking lot as we checked in, and when the return specialists hit the field a loud cheer went up. Wade Phillips drew some applause as he made his way to a pre-game TV spot.
Old friend Norv Turner has checked in with just about every member of the Jones family. He and Stephen Jones - and Phillips - are talking on the field as punts sail over their heads.
We'll come up with a couple of videos after the game, and hopefully ESPN's Tim Cowlishaw will make it through four quarters before hitting the Gas Lamp District.
