You should never totally abandon the run unless you just cant win......face it, its not Payton's fault, and its not Zimmers fault, the players are responsible for this one.....no one else

I never said to abandon the run. But we already saw they couldn't run with any effectiveness. So how do you remedy that? Use a passing attack to setup your running game. That seemed logical early in the game when there was NO running lanes AND the pass protection was actually pretty good early on... and as I said previously, once the pass protection started faltering, that took away options that the offense could've explored...
