They won the Super Bowl the year I started following football. Went to a Giants game, it sucked. An utterly miserable experience. Watched the Cowboys crush the same team that barely beat the Giants two weeks later. They went on to win the Super Bowl. It was a lot more fun.

All of which has nothing to do with the fact that you don't have any ties to the Eagles. You are not in their employ, you are not a part of the franchise, you just root for them because everyone else around you did. You followed the crowd. Blindly following everyone around you is no more valid a reason to root for a team than the fact that a team was good when I started rooting. You are not an Eagle. They wouldn't know if you dropped off the face of the earth tomorrow. You have no ties to the team other than cheering for them. You somehow believe it makes you more of a man to follow what everyone else around you is doing, simply for the sake of following. I disagree.
