Cowboys Vs Falcons ***Game Thread***

I'm not sure why any objective Dallas fan is surprised by our poor performance on defense. We've seen how bad they are. Heck, I would have been surprised if we actually played well on defense. Our secondary and scheme are awful. I'm not sure if it's Parcells' fault or Zimmers' fault, but someone needs to come up with some new ideas. Last year I thought it was Payton's fault, but that doesn't look like the case anymore. Parcells is not as good as everyone thinks he is. He is average at best. It's that simple.

Payton did not coach Defense last year. But we do have a scheme issue on D.

Maybe NO offense isnt so great because we are making Atl offense look like the old 'Air Correll" offense from San Diego. Philly and Det QBs have to be licking their chops at this point.

As much crap as everyone's throwing at our D, save some for our OLine. They're getting absolutely no push at the LOS. They're not generating any holes or movement. We may be bigger than Atlanta's DLine, but we're playing on our side of the LOS. If we can resuscitate our run game, we can keep their "explosive" offense off the field and win easily. However, if we keep this shootout going on in the 2nd half, the game is up for grabs.

What did you want Zimmer to do? Henry is getting beat, it's not like we're putting our safeties on their best receivers. We're blitzing people, sometimes they get there, sometimes they don't. Safeties are covering TE's.

My only gripe with him is that he's not covering Griffith.

If Ayodele HELD ON TO THE BALL, this woould be a much different game right now...

I read a book about the Baltimore Ravens called 'Next Man Up' and in it, Brian Billick says his teams always do well in the last quarter of the season because he doesn't kill them in training camp and preseason. His theory is that your guys won't be as gassed after the weekly NFL grind if your camps aren't that strenuous. Maybe that's why we always tank in December...BP is pretty hard on players in preseason and all year long.

good point and henry who is already a slow *** turtle getting gassed pretty much gives the other team free points every game. You can add both our safeties to that list.

IMO, this is the gameplan we all wanted. Blitz and put the CB's in 1-1 coverage. The CB's simply aren't as good as we thought. Quite simplay this I'm now convinced outside of Fergy, Newman and Ware this is a personell issue. The scary thing is we're locked into a lot of these players.

Its called frustration, this team has built a lot of our hopes this season but now reality is setting in and we are sick because we bought into the hype. Yes we knew there were issues but after 10 seasons without a playoff win you cant blame us for getting excited even if it was a HUGE mistake.

I hear what you are saying, but we are making Vick look like a probowl QB and he has only completed SIX passes.

This game should NOT be tied at 21.

Let's face it, so far our defense has looked terrible.
