Game Day ***Cowboys vs Jaguars prep game thread***

This will be the first time we’ve seen the Cowboys suit up for a game since they lost to San Francisco in the playoffs seven months ago. Couldn’t come soon enough for me. However, I’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning to see the game on NFL Network. Once the game starts I’ll be off the board until tomorrow, so I don’t see the results.

None of our starting OL will be playing.

You know there's no way to avoid knowing what happened because the Dallas Cowboys every snap will be on social media no matter where you're at on Twitter or Facebook or anywhere you got push notifications they will hinge on every throw every snap every play and focus on the negatives

The start of the competition for the WR4-5-6 slots, along with the spots for the practice squad.
Will the "holdovers" (2nd year players and longer) hang on...or will the rookies force them off the team?

- TJ Bass at OG,..
- rookie OT Bostic (whose given a post draft roster bonus)
- mid round pick Richards will he play just OG or some time at OT ?
- Matt Walesko - disappointed that he's been only RT in camp no LT reps, some spots at OG
- i dunno if Brock Huffman will play- he's been competing at C/OG like Farniok
- Obodga Chumba (sp) may be out with that hyperextended knee

RBs
- Deuce as both RB and punt returner
- Hunter Loop as a " FB" (can he block?)
- I know of Malik and Rico - not as interested

WRs, Brooks, Turpin, Tolbert, Fehoko, Houston, Jalen Cropper, speedy Tyrone Johnson ( i would sit Lamb, Cooks, Gallup)

Stephens: could be a very raw poor man's Jermichael Finley project

- Wil Grier should a heckuva lot better, effective than scrub Ben DiNucci so WRs will have much better chance to display and flourish

- FG KICKER ...!! it's just Aubrey's solo show .. for now. i still expect a vet kicker at preseason's end. via trade or street FA.

per DE : Sam Williams, Wheatly . don't expect Parsons, DLaw, Fowler, to play and Armstrong is still ailing
Per DT - Massi, Fehoko, (shoulder ?) Gallimore, Gholston, ( don't expect Hankins and Osa to play much if at all)

Per LB: Overshown, Clark, Cox, Harper, Jefferson , rookie Land ( i would not even start LVE vs Jax)

Per secondary: Scott, Bland, Thomas, Bell, Joseph, Wright, Izzy , Miles Brooks( I would sit my starting four DBs down- ala Diggs, Gilmore, Hooker, Kearse)

Gonna be a baptism by fire early on. I'm curious to see how good our defensive backups really are. They'll be going up against Jax's first team offense. They are pretty dang good. Gonna see if Sam Williams, Mazi Smith, and Eric Scott can hold up.

For the well being of all I'm going to avoid the game day thread.

I'm too apt to bite somebody's head off for making premature conclusions based on a practice game.

I also suspect our backup o-line is going to make the offensive efforts look ugly. See you all on the other side.

I’ll be somewhat shocked if we play any significant players in this game. Losing a key starter would be gut wrenching.
