If he gets injured then it's just a freak injury, which could easily happen during practice. Can't predict injuries like that, and he does need all the work he can get.

Starters playing against the scrubs is generally a bad idea. But he needs the reps. Great idea to play him as long as he doesn't go down. If he does then the coaches are stupid.
