Not sure it is a mistake. I remember once a team decided to defer and the other team chose to kick. Then they were screwed the second half.

Dak said we want to kick it that way first and walt said you want to kick and he then said defer.

I mean He said kick it that way...he screwed up so its going to be crazy here in a few minutes.
