I'd rather drop Church and his cap hit and draft Karl Joseph in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Why not both? Sign Nelson for the short term and a veteran presence and then draft Joseph for the future? Personally, I'd be a bit nervous with two young guys back there in Joseph and Byron Jones.

scratch Bosa, Ramsey and Elliot from the possibility of the 4th pick......

Why exactly is Ramsey off the board?

If you sign Robinson and release Carr aren't you in the exact same boat personnel numbers wise? And Mo is on a one year deal. OScan is coming back from surgery.

And if you view Ramsey as a safety what you do at corner is immaterial anyways.

Personally I want a Carr restructure and a Ramsey pick. And then I feel comfortable much better in a secondary where I had real doubts coming in.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Could be just a difference of opinion between them. Robinson wants to sign, his agent is holding out for more.

His agent is very inexperienced, so that could be part of the issue.

If there is a Carr release thread, it will be the largest mega thread ever. And 99% of the post will be along the lines of...
great, finally, yes, about time...and don't forget "championship"...I may throw in a few of those myself...:lmao:

It wouldn't beat the Newman thread, would it? Our fans really nailed that one, too.

Robinson for 3 years sounds good if the numbers are reasonable, as expected. Let us all take that collective sigh of relief that we secretly knew was coming all along.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Joseph will not play at all in 2016 due to his knee injury. He will have a red shirt year, essentially. Some team that can afford to sit him for a year will get a steal if they can get him in round three, though there's a good chance one of the playoff teams picking lower in the rounds will take him at the bottom part of the 2nd..

Step 1 - Cut Carr's salary in half or release him if he refuses.
Step 2 - Call Reggie Nelson's agent and offer whatever was saved.
Step 3 - Enjoy a job well done and focus on the draft.

Probably around $2-3M will be saved in your scenario.

I think Reggie Nelson's worth more than that.

No, don't you get it? Cutting Carr = Super Bowl.

That's a possibility.

But what today does do is help those that wish for a QB at #4... Not saying I'm in that crowd, but I can see where it would benefit that POV.

I'm in the no QB @4 crowd....... But all signs point to just that happening. I firmly believe we are taking a QB @#4

Carr's going to renegotiate.

FO likes the guy and he likes it here.

He's a solid player and not over the hill. Just got a contract that is hard to live up to.

I wasn't impressed with Robinson when he was with the Saints but I didn't observe him with the Chargers so hopefully he improved.

This helps with the depth of cornerbacks on the team and keeps Dallas from probably drafting Ramsey (I hope they stay away from him).

With the fourth pick I envision Dallas drafting a QB, DE or trading down for more picks.

Oh perfect, now there are 3 players with injuries that Dallas can pick and wait on....LOL...

You would be surprised how many teams might try to trade into 2 of the top 3 picks for Goff and Wentz.

If 1 of the 2 are there at # 4, I believe it's QB.
