Why is it so hard for the Cowboys to just move on from guys?

I mean, they're really bringing Maher back? Why? Because he played here in the past and is a familiar face?

What a horribly ran franchise.
He’s literally the best kicker available (not saying much). But he was solid last season in 8 games

If memory serves, Maher was great with very long FG's, however, he struggled with the shorter ones. Oh joy. Personally, I would prefer someone who is automatic from anywhere below 50 yards to someone who can kick it long.

I agree they haven’t handled the kicking position good but it’s also possible Maher is better right now than what they have and that’s why he’s coming back.

I get the feeling we end up with 2 kickers on the roster. Harjrullahu is the consistent short yardage/XP guy. Meanwhile Maher can take the longer kicks and kickoff duties.

Not sure if the Cowboys have the roster flexibility for that, but it might make sense? Instead of one quality kicker, keep two who do a couple things well but cant do everything?

Well he did kick in the nfl last year so at least one other team thought he was an option
The problem is there aren’t 32 good kickers and teams are constantly trying to find a guy

I don’t think that’s an option really
It would cost you a guy who is more talented
Just figure out can be most consistent inside 50 and go with him

1. Fine with cutting Garibay. Dude needs some more time practicing/new career.
2. Why Maher though. He's a cheaper Greg Z. Misses the chip shots but can nail a 55+ yarder.
