Absolutely. This is a step backwards. What a total disaster.

What's old is new again. Not feeling like this solves the kicker dilemma.
WAS is the key word he will compete and if hes not good will be cut,,If memory serves, Maher was great with very long FG's, however, he struggled with the shorter ones. Oh joy. Personally, I would prefer someone who is automatic from anywhere below 50 yards to someone who can kick it long.
I'm not a fan of this, but in this situation, Maher is more valuable than a 6th receiver or corner.I get the feeling we end up with 2 kickers on the roster. Harjrullahu is the consistent short yardage/XP guy. Meanwhile Maher can take the longer kicks and kickoff duties.
Not sure if the Cowboys have the roster flexibility for that, but it might make sense? Instead of one quality kicker, keep two who do a couple things well but cant do everything?

rather umm you have to have one kicker..what bring back Jeff heath you all are so comical.absolutely not. Rather have no kicker as opposed to 2. Can’t waste roster spot.

Punter can kickoff/kick. Otherwise go for 2 always. Never 2 kickers on roster. Dumb. Or genius ideas get ONE decent kicker.rather umm you have to have one kicker..what bring back Jeff heath you all are so comical.
good thing feelings dont build teams.

Maybe because he made 16 of 18 last year.
Yep, 89% last year but 74% his two prior seasons and 77% for his career.
Was last year a rebirth or an aberration? I guess we're going to find out.

So keep two kickers for now.
The actual kicker is probably in another camp right now.
That's a pretty good idea actually.I get the feeling we end up with 2 kickers on the roster. Harjrullahu is the consistent short yardage/XP guy. Meanwhile Maher can take the longer kicks and kickoff duties.
