We all knew this

And believe it or not. It’s absolutely the right decision.
Yeah, I see no issue with the tag. You have a good player coming off injury, looking for big money. Is it smarter to see how he responds with just 10 million guaranteed, sign him to a long term deal with much more guaranteed, or just let him walk and creating a big hole?

I think the first option is best, and then draft an RB in the 3rd round or beyond.

Big hole like that two teams in the Superbowl had with the cheaper option??

I think people are so blah about the whole Zeke decline that they don’t realize Pollard and Zeke are 2 completely different players even if they play the same position. Like Mike Lombardi said on 105.3 a few weeks back, you pay Pollard because he’s a WEAPON, whereas Zeke is in old-school RB that has gone the way of the dinosaurs.

Pollard will only be 26 in April and pretty much does everything that McCaffrey does. I don’t have an issue trying to keep him on a 4 year deal. As long as it’s not an Elliott type deal. Something like $8-$9 million per year.
