We are having a good off season, but everybody else will be better, as for the Giants, Coughlin has proven he can fit pieces together better than ANYBODY in the division, so I don't expect a repeat from them.
The egals are going to be better with a stable situation at QB, a 2nd year in the system, along with a few personnel additions.
The skins? that's a crap shoot, but I would pick them in 4th.
Now, we have a QB who I believe is 50-50 at best to be a factor. If we keep Orton we might be okay there. We have three offensive geniuses sitting in the same room, how's that going to turn out? Then there's the Jerry factor, will he be content to sit in the box, or will be make a gallant return to the sidelines? How about the injury bug, was that a fluke, or a sign of missteps in player prep?
We can put together a good season and win the division, or as in years past, any one of those issues could bite us in the bum AGAIN.

While on opening day I'm as giddy as anybody, and full of high hopes, but a week after the draft proclaiming we'll win the division is, well, talking the talk.

I would like to see Jerry (and steven) make a return to the sidelines..fistpumping and screaming to get in there and get it done. :)

I think if the young guys develop they could be as good as anyone in the NFC beside Seattle and San Fran

I bet that's what Giants, Eagle and Skin board are saying too.

I need proof after 3 years of losing divsion title in the final month to divisioin rivals.

Our division is really weak and I think we come up big this year. Our offense will be one of the best in the NFL and our defense will be improved. Plus the no 1 belives in us theory, ppl are picking us last in the division. Thoughts?

The NFC Least was historically bad last year and we still could not win it.

We had a good draft, but in no way did our draft clearly separate us from the other teams in the division.

a lot of focus on our improvements. we do know that other teams improved as well??? you don't think odell beckham on the giants isn't going to be a terror to cover?

Not with his current QB.....can't terrorize if the ball can't get to you....LOL
j/k but if our defense improves [and it should be], then he won't be that big of a threat to worry about, not any more than any other WR they had recently.

Not going to happen. The division was beyond terrible last year and they still lost it. Why does everybody think all 3 other teams are going to stay the same? Dallas will be at 7-9 8-8 at best and that will probably put them 3rd in the nfce.

I realize that the other teams have improved, but they had further to go than Dallas with the exception of the Eagles. I am sure the division looks at Dallas and concludes there is no way they will be better, in fact, worse because of the loss of Hatcher and Ware. I also realize that with all of the rookies we are counting on that we could wind up 5 - 9. But I believe our coaching unit has improved with Linehan and the D coordinator although he was involved last year. Over the years I've served as assistants and as directors and there is a vast difference. Therefore, our coaching unit has improved along with the talent.

I know the talent is more of a hope so than a proven matter, but I am encouraged. I believe the attitude and cohesion of the group will be better. The OL will be better. The addition of a FB and RB to strengthen the running game to go with the improved RB is cause to be optimistic.

The D will be better even though in the beginning we will feel the loss of Hatcher and Ware. My optimism is undergirded by the belief we will not suffer as many catastrophic injuries.

When you read this, it might make you more pessimistic, so I'll tell you the truth. At my old age, my bones can predict the weather and in spite of maybe the evidence to the contrary I feel it in my bones 9-7. Would my bones lie to me?

I like seeing some optimism. Don't let the backlash you are going to get from posting this discourage you.

I would rather have hope and see hope dashed than to walk around bummed out all the time. I can deal with disappointment

Well, unless I was bumped out from infancy, I haven't walked around bummed out all the time. ;) However, this is the first year where I am. I have little expectations for the Cowboys this year.

We replaced hatcher and ware with melton and a rookie, and we still did very little to address the safety position.

For some reason, we hate drafting high for that position. It's like we've been needing a safety for four years, and we fail to adequately address it in the draft.

I like it too, even if I don't share it. There's something about youthful enthusiasm that makes you long for the days when I was innocent and naïve. I guess I'm too jaded now.

Its like the whole organization has something against the safety position.

I hope you are not giving halftime speeches or leading pep rally's you are not very good at it. LOL

This team needs leadership, not pep rallies, the former would have secured divisional championships in at least two out of the past three seasons in this weakened division.

I know he will, that is my lil cousin, he has that Sauls blood line. We were all happy that he was drafted as high as he was, we were cheering like crazy, but after the cheering stopped, we all said dang he went to the enemy. Some family members were talkin of jumpin on the giants bandwagon, but us older ones said that we will root for him to do well even against us, but we will still root for the Boys to always defeat the giants. Plus, we know the family members that were spittin out jumpin to the giants, were just spewing out nonsense, they are Cowboys fans thru and thru, you cannot grow up in the Sauls family and not be a Cowboys fan

Thanks, I kept telling the family that he was going to be a Cowboy if he was still sitting there at 16, I was telling his father that he was a top ten pick, and we both agreed that he was the best Wr coming out this draft. Did you watch him in the combine? He was smooth in and out of his cuts, routes were crisp, he did not drop one single pass. But they kept hyping Watkins and Evans, they were trying to say Watkins was faster, but he was not Odell 40 times were faster. His dad should have been in the NFL, but he loved to party too much, I always told him he need to cut that out if he wanted to make it to the NFL. Odell's mom was a 3 time all american in track.
