As of right now I have both the eagles and giants finishing 8-8, us at 7-9 and the skins at 6-10. Add that to we were 5-1 in the division last year and it took the eagles best shot to beat a beat up dallas team with out romo. Id say we have a chance. For whatever reason people are giving the division to the eagles by a long shot. I don't get it. Any team that it took to week 17 to claim this division vs a beat up team like dallas was in week 17 just doesn't scare me much. I give them a slight advantage but not much. In the end there is no team head and shoulders above the next in this division. There is no contender in the nfc that is scared of any team in this division. I see it being like the last 2 seasons. Whoever wins it will be 1 and done in the playoffs while the fans hope for a run like the giants had in 2011.

Dallas probably won't have the horses to make a run in the playoffs, but they can absolutely win this division if injuries are kept at a minimum(unlike the last two seasons).

I like the "Why not us?" approach.

Eagles- QB, Nick Foles is unlikely to repeat his 27-2 TD/INT ratio. Plus, everyone has film on Chip Kelly's offense now. Frankly, we should've won the last game.

Giants- Eli is likely to repeat his numbers from last year. Giants are well coached. Can't believe how it seems every year they're tring to run Coughlin out. Beckham will be
in the hunt for ROY award but I think we can outscore them.

Commanders- New guy, Jay Gruden is going to take the Ferrari RG3 and park him in a garage called the "Pocket". Yes, Gruden wants a classic drop back and read progressions QB.
That is not RG3's strength. They may surprise early but will implode by mid-October, if not sooner.

OUR COWBOYS- Someone mentioned that we will have one of the top offenses. You are correct sir! Here's a prediction for ya. We average nearly 100 yards rpg. I realize there is
no star power on defense. No big name we are supposed to rely on. Simply put, we cannot possibly play as bad as last year. I think some new stars surface on defense.

Its a safe bet that 9-7 will win you the NFC East Crown. Maybe we get a first round playoff victory, just maybe. As someone else said, it's May. So everyone should have a positive vibe.
It's still possible. We aren't eliminated yet. There's still a chance. Anything can happen in this league.

This season will ultimately be like last years - fighting and clawing their way into a win or go home game in week 17. I just hope the 4th time's the charm.

uH, we had the worst defense in team history and we still went 8-8.
I think we score more and give up less this year.
Better OC and DC than we had. Roster improvements.
The Cowboys are better today than they were at the end of last season.
Its crazy to think we dont have a chance to win the division.

I would say it's unlikely based on the poor defense/coaching and injury history of this team.

We replaced hatcher and ware with melton and a rookie, and we still did very little to address the safety position.

Ware did little last year, I like the guy but fact is for much of the season he was worthless. He played with 1 arm was not getting the QB was not doing jack. Yes we can replace that. Hatcher did have a good season so did Selvie and while I hated to lose Hatcher I do think Melton is very capable of replacing him. Funny part is many here have wanted Hatcher gone until last year now all of a sudden he is irreplaceable? lol

Well, unless I was bumped out from infancy, I haven't walked around bummed out all the time. ;) However, this is the first year where I am. I have little expectations for the Cowboys this year.

and that is your expectation, I'm not telling anyone they should be excited or have hope that is their own choice. Fact is no one knows how the season will go so they will play the games and we will all see if they show improvement and do more than 8-8

This team needs leadership, not pep rallies, the former would have secured divisional championships in at least two out of the past three seasons in this weakened division.

the comment was to a poster not about players. Dallas I don't think lacks leaders but heck Defense captain wise 1 was out for half the season and the other played with 1 arm. Offensively Romo was having a very good season until week 17 when he missed a critical game due to injury. Ultimately I put it on the HC after all the leadership of every team beings and ends with the man on the sidelines, he is the one they turn too.

Good points.

"Why not us" is legit.

Foles for sure will not repeat that ratio. They should be decent though. I understand why they're the favorites.

However, I can't imagine Eli being that bad again...maybe bad, but not THAT bad. They'll have a better run game and more help from the WRs and TE. They too had injuries.

The Skins upgraded their team this offseason. I'm not sure if its enough though.

Nobody had injuries like Dallas did last year. That alone will be a big deal. Lee, for example, is our best defender. The Cowboys are now a young and hungry team.

I wouldn't predict they win the East, but they have as good a chance as any team.

I like it too, even if I don't share it. There's something about youthful enthusiasm that makes you long for the days when I was innocent and naïve. I guess I'm too jaded now.

what I really miss are the years when people were Optimistic and the Cowboys had a real chance at the SB. Those were good times.

I think that is the case in most successful teams.

Our division is really weak and I think we come up big this year. Our offense will be one of the best in the NFL and our defense will be improved. Plus the no 1 belives in us theory, ppl are picking us last in the division. Thoughts?

I like your positive attitude as it is a rare thing on the Zone these days but I do not agree that the NFC East is a weak division. All four teams have drafted or signed different free agents to make the upcoming season a toss up as far as who is weakest and who has risen to the cream at the top. I always think of it as the NFC Beast not the NFC Least. A lot of good coaches are coaching in this division starting but definitely not ending with the head coaches. Whoever wins this division will have fully earned it as I don't see any weak teams here. As far as the Cowboys coming up big this year, that is my hope EVERY year. But it ain't gonna ever be a cakewalk through this division.

Yeah and a couple of years ago Philly made all these moves claiming to be some all star team and fold like a cheap suit. I think any of the 3 teams is capable which I think is what makes the NFC East exciting.

Fair enough. I didn't take your comment as a criticism. My skin is thinner than that. :)
