Fair enough. I didn't take your comment as a criticism. My skin is thinner than that. :)

Good I was not attempting to attack you or your view. I understand the frustration as much as anyone. Heck I have been following this team since 1965. I think there is some real positives on this team especially on offense and I do see a major question mark on defense this season. I would only say why is a question mark for some automatically a negative? to me it is unknown not good or bad. I think Dallas has brought in some young prospects some that have really caught my eye and hope they can come together as a solid rotation to make this unit better. Only way to know for sure is to see them out on the field playing. I also do not think it will take much to improve over what this defense failed to do last season a season that saw us go 5-1 in the division and get us to week 17 with a winner talk all game.

a lot of focus on our improvements. we do know that other teams improved as well??? you don't think odell beckham on the giants isn't going to be a terror to cover?

Very true. However, Beckham, for example, while a good player wasn't a pure need for Giants. They had bigger issues - along the OL and DL. The Eagles lost Jackson and replaced him with two rookies and there's already talk that the first round pick, Marcus Smith, is a guy they don't even think will start right away but is a development guy who will play behind Trent Cole.

I think the best way to put it is I think this team can win the division (and am under no delusions that they are a lock to win the division) whereas most people seem to think it's a lock the Eagles will repeat and give Dallas little shot.

I'll try to make a case as to why the Cowboys can win the division. Granted, there are some assumptions that have to be made, such as Romo staying healthy. But if he does, I think the offense will be very good. Defensively, I am going with the theory it was so bad last year that it can't really get any worse and that it's unlikely we'll get mauled by injuries again.

Furthermore, it seems the consensus divisional champ pick is the Eagles. But let's look at last season. The Eagles won the division in the last game of the year against an undermanned Dallas team that wa playing their backup QB. They were basically one Orton brain fart from losing the division. In the offseason, they jettisoned their second best offensive weapon and will try to replace him with a rookie WRs and an oft injured Jeremy Maclin. Additionally, they barely squeaked out the division when their QB had an HISTORICAL season. I mean I might like Foles but it would be foolish to think he's going close to 30 TDs and only 2 interceptions again over a season.

Could the Eagles win the division? Absolutely. But I think the gap that some seem to hint is there, really isn't. The Eagles didn't have such a great offseason that they've opened a large gap from last year where they barely won the division.

Lets see 8-8 last game of the year NY beats us to make post season, then 8-8 and washington beats us last game of the year and we lose out on playoffs and this past year 8-8 last game vs Philly and we get bumped out. Yeah I would say it is time to turn the tide. lol

Well if it were a circle we'd be in line to lose against NYG in the final game, lucky for us we play the Foreskins... or lucky for them.
Or... maybe we're in line to finally beat ourselves and get in...!

It was a joke, see the lol at the end. Geez

I don't know what the Cowboys will or will not do. I think there are areas of the team that are strong and others that currently are unknown. What took place last season or 3 season ago will have no bearing on this season. People want to act as if Philly, NY and Washington are just better teams be my guest there are a lot of Eagles, Giants and Commander fans who feel the same way go join them.

Our division is really weak and I think we come up big this year. Our offense will be one of the best in the NFL and our defense will be improved. Plus the no 1 belives in us theory, ppl are picking us last in the division. Thoughts?

I like your optimisim, but I have to disagree. Our defense did nothing to improve the secondary and we are replacing DWare and Hatcher with Melton, who is coming of a serious injury, and a rookie in Lawrence. The Linebackers are the same often injured crew as last year with the addition of Hitchens, who many think was a major reach where we took him. The offense should be improved, but the Defense is still a huge question mark
