If you had said back in July that we would be scanning the waiver wires and cut lists for help at RB in October, I would not have believed you. Depressing.

This is more of a specialist. I would say it is expected, if not a little late.

It was not as clearly defined last year though because Murray did it all. We are running the 2013 Detroit offense. Even down to the committee approach that is terrible at establishing the run. The dump offs are a substitute.

Yep. This was actually one of the things I feared when we brought in Linehan. I don't like to committee approach either. However, everybody does it now so it's probably the way we go. His scheme isn't bad if you have the threat downfield to create space for the backs to exploit but if you don't, then you see what we have now. It's really important IMO, that we get somebody who can effectively target receivers downfield when Dez comes back. That's the only way Linehan's offense will work IMO.

Edit: I have also suspected for a while now that this is why more consideration was not given to keeping Murray. I was not in favor of paying him the money Philly offered but I do think that if Linehan would have wanted him, the Cowboys would have probably figured out a way to keep him. That's just my opinion though.

I was hoping the Cowboys would look at La Michael James or Travis Cadet after Dunbar went down. Not sure if Cadet is pr/Kr like James is but he would be perfect in Linehan's offense.

Actually, he would be four backs. Still hard to do unless you are eliminating a WR.

Something tells me McFadden would be the guy eliminated...thus far his contribution has been wasting a roster spot.

If this cat was worth anything, he'd be playing for Chippy since he's a former duck. This tells me all I need to know.

Great college player. Watched him play a lot at Oregon. Does not seem to be a good fit for the NFL though.

I like that we still looking for our quick small back Dunbar like player, Dolphins released Mostert trying to get him to the practice squad, wouldn't be surprised if we place a claim, we need a player like that even as a Kick Returner and punt returner.
