This tells me that this is Dak's team and Tony is just a backup who will only play if Dak gets hurt. No sense risking an injury in a meaningless game in Philly. Even a rusty Tony is better than Sanchez.

It is not that. Someone said earlier that Romo being a big unknown was a problem. But it's also the key to not being second-guessed when/if things go wrong. Right now there is no evidence that Romo is a good/bad quarterback in 2016 and they want to keep it that way to limit the second guessing.
Schroders cat paradox! I love it. Football IS rocket science after all.

People afraid of injuring players disgust me.

The only reason they could be scared of an injury is if the plan is to trade him in the offseason and they don't want damaged goods.

I thought we needed a backup in last night for mop up. That last drive up 21 on the 4 was not needed for Dak. That was backup time regardless of our record etc.

I don't follow. What's the concern with being second-guessed? About what? Having Romo serve as the back-up QB? If he's no longer capable, shouldn't we find that out before it actually matters?
I think they already know. If he can only play a game or two rather it be in the playoffs.

Coach's plans > Fan's plans = 13-2

Something is working. Lol
Very good point
I'd rather see romo get some work but I can also see why the team would not want to put him out there with starters resting and risk injury which could hurt his ability during the playoffs or his value in the off season
At 13-2 I go with what they think. Think they've earned that

And everyone laughed when I said they're afraid Tony would show out and cause problems/controversy.

Exactly what it is. They know they're playing the inferior QB as starter.

Why would he only be able to play a game or two? He may be fragile, but it's not as though he's pushing up against some kind of limit on the amount of games he can play. As for his being fragile: again, I just don't think you can manage a team worrying about your players getting injured. If he's going to break the first time he takes a hit it won't do much good to save him for the playoffs. You'll have his services for 1-10 snaps. Not enough to get you through a game, let alone 3 games.

I don't really think the Cowboys are thinking of games for Tony at this time. I think they consider Dak the starter. Tony is the backup. No other playoff teams are worried about getting their backup in games. I don't even know the names of most of the other backups.

I don't see why, most people think the best way to treat this game is to prepare like you are playing 4 full quarters and at some point take out a few key players. Don't tell them you are going to take them out, just do it when you feel it's the right time. If that happens, you need Sanchez active because you likely go to Romo, but need an option incase he gets hurt after 1 hit

No other playoff team can realistically claim that they still have a shot at the Super Bowl if their starter goes down. The Cowboys can, provided that Romo is ready. That places a premium on ensuring he's ready. Live game action is the way to ensure he's ready.

We don't know what kind of a QB Tony will be. He hasn't played in 2 years. If the Cowboys are depending on Tony to come to the rescue again I think they're going to be disappointed. Yea he's better than all the other backups if he's the same old Tony. I just don't understand talking about something that probably won't happen. Unless Dak gets hurt I doubt we'll see Tony.

Yup...If dak or Brady go the way or Carr/Mariota...Only Dallas remains a contender :)

Romo has nothing to prove, he's a gamer and will be ready if needed in the playoffs, go Cowboys!

If he's no longer capable, none of this really matters (though it would be good to find out before our playoff hopes ride on him). But if he is the same old Tony (and, really, we have no reason to believe he isn't, beyond not having seen him in a while) we need to have him ready in case Dak does get hurt.
