Cowboys WR's Sam Hurd and Miles Austin are "significantly ahead" of Isaiah Stanback

uhhh, i would hope so. they have played significantly longer, and better, than he has in games that count.

we'll see how he improves as camp goes, though.

I have been telling you guys that Stanback should be developed at qb. He was a good qb at the University of Washington. He was nothing special at the very limited time he played wr.

As the Dallas Morning News says, they're simply more polished and prepared. Stanback is raw and his value is more long-term, but the former quarterback is the biggest playmaker of the group and the most dangerous with the ball in his hands. He's obviously more of a dynasty prospect at this point.

He played WR a tiny bit as a Freshman. That's hardly anything to go on.

Next year i expect Stanback to be pushing for the 2nd but no less then 3rd slot.

He looks like he cold excel as a "freak" at the position.... that is what I am hoping for.

I'd be happy if he pushed for 4th and had a few special packages

they do have one more year of experience and didn't stanbach did miss a lot due to injury last year so take it how you want to.

Right. This is essentially Stanback's rookie year and he's trying to transition from QB. It's just that the expectations are higher than they really should be. I've fallen victim to that as well.

Stanback will almost definitely be on the team this year, but most likely as the 5th WR. The only chance he's not on the team is if Miami offers something really good in a trade. We all know Stanback was a Jeff Ireland pick and Jeff was totally in love with his measurables. It's not totally impossible that we could recoup the 4th we spent on him if we want to alleviate the log-jam of unpolished developmental WRs we have at TC.

Just throwing it out there.

This is a Nooooo Duh thread. They've been here 3 years and this is really his 1st year. Wow stating the obvious aren't they? Anyway he'll have certain routes in certain formations this year just to ease him in so his ability wouldn't be hindered

I don't want to hear that BS any QB at the D1 level can throw the ball to the flats or any other route a RB runs. There's reason why FJ didn't get thrown to whether you want to accepet that fact or not is on you.

Thank you. That is so annoying when people say that. "He didn't have a QB blah blah blah."

You are exactly right. It doesn't even have to be a D1 QB. Any quarterback can throw to the flats or dump it off to the RB. That argument is a crock of bull.

I'm tired of reading the hype

I'm ready to see the real deal

i feel like there is a Stanback on our team every year. They fade out after a couple years

He's a quarterback. Do you expect he'll run perfect routes his first 2 or so years? I think the author is correct. He's a dynasty project. And if he turns out to be solid, he'll have some upside.

I loved how he faded to 50 receptions and 7 TD's

i can't wait to see Stanback fade into that production
