This is why I am OK with him as the villain, he showed what he was long before he became Vader. He was a monster as Anakin Skywalker. And as a kid, a monstrous actor and not much better as an adult. If Palpatine hadn't turned him into Vader, he would have just continued to be that whiney little *****, slaughtering people and complaining "I don't get no respect".
